Once Xiaodan had returned, she hurried to Auntie Mo. She quickly greeted anyone she passed by. She wanted to ask Auntie Mo if she knew anything about the water dragon. Did she really disappear from this world? Was there no way to save her?
"Auntie Mo," Xiaodan said in a hurry.
"Xiaodan! You're back. Have you finished your case? I heard from other assistants that it's raining, so that must mean you freed the water dragon," Auntie Mo said, super excited for Xiaodan.
"You haven't gotten the news that the water dragon sacrificed herself?" Xiaodan questioned.
"What.. no... I haven't heard anything," Auntie Mo said, astonished, and shook her head.
"The higher-ups haven't said anything yet... then.... What happened to Yinuo? Does that mean she's really gone?" Xiaodan mumbled.

After Xiaodan finished talking to Auntie Mo and giving her a report on completing her case, she walked out in a daze. She soon bumped into Senior Zixin.
"Oh, Xiaodan. I heard you finished your first mid-level case. Congrats," Senior Zixin said, stopping to talk to her.
"Ah..yeah," Xiaodan said, absentminded.
"What's wrong? I just came back from my completed case," Senior Zixin said, noticing Xiaodan's behavior.
"You must have heard that the water dragon was free since it's raining, but she was a task in my case, and she sacrificed herself. Does that mean she no longer exists? There must be a way to save her?" Xiaodan looked at Senior Zixin.
"I did hear that, but since she sacrificed herself, her soul was destroyed in the process," Senior Zixin said. Xiaodan looked at him, devastated.
"Don't feel too sad. The heavens had pity on her and were able to restore her soul, but now she is a mere mortal," Senior Zixin said, cheering her up.
"She's still alive?" Xiaodan said, overwhelmed with joy.
"Mmm," Senior Zixin nodded his head.
"How do you know that?" Xiaodan said,
"I have my ways," he simply answered. Xiaodan felt so relieved. Even though Yinuo became mortal, at least she was alive and could start a new life, and maybe even have a happy one.
Xiaodan soon remembered she had been exposed. "Ah.. Senior Zixin. My identity was exposed...will I get in trouble?" Xiaodan asked.
"Hmm... were there a lot of people?" Senior Zixin asked.
"Um..just a few...," she answered.
"I think you should be fine," he said.
Xiaodan breathed out a sigh of relief, "Good."
"Um...another thing, is it possible for me to request to be on the water dragon case and another person...?" Xiaodan asked.
"I can ask around and see what I can do, but who is this other person?" Senior Zixin asked.
"Ah...He Jingy," Xiaodan asked.
"Let me see what I can do...," Senior Zixin said.

Days went by, and Xiaodan continued doing her cases until one day she was called in.
"Due to some circumstances from your first mid-level case, you will have to go back to doing first-level cases," One of the higher-ups said.
