"I-I," she tried to say but was startled when Feng Yichen grabbed her wrist and took her away. He glanced back, knowing that his so-called mother would be coming in this direction as well.

Once they reached a secluded area, he released her wrist and coldly looked at her.

Li Chyou quickly spoke, "I didn't mean to hear your conversation. I just happened to go that direction and overheard your conversation."

He just stared at her without saying another word. She looked at him and saw a better view of his left cheek, which was severely red.

"Umm, are you okay? That must hurt a lot...," Li Chyou said.

"Would you like this? It's still cold. You can put it on your face," she said, handing him the cold water bottle. He noticed her eyes as if they were pitying him.

"I don't need your pity," he said coldly, refusing to take the bottle.

"I wasn't pitying you," she said with her eyes firm and clear.

He gazed at them again and scoffed before he left without saying another word. Li Chyou couldn't help but watch him go and quietly thought to herself.

_____

"Chyou, you're back. What took you so long?" Xiaodan said once she saw her.

"Something came up on my way back," Li Chyou said casually, but once she sat down, she started thinking again.

She quietly sighed to herself as she thought, why does it matter to her? She wasn't close to Feng Yichen, so she shouldn't get into his business.

_____

Days went on, and Xiaodan detected more tension between Li Chyou and Feng Yichen. She noticed the tension was not in a good way, as if Li Chyou had rubbed Feng Yichen the wrong way. They wouldn't even stand by each other.

All her efforts were in vain. Xiaodan thought she was making some progress, but it all disappeared in a second. She didn't understand what happened. Did something happen when she wasn't looking?

During this time, Li Chyou glanced at Feng Yichen and noticed him on his phone again. If she recalled correctly, each time she encountered Feng Yichen, he was always glued to his phone, not working on his assignments or studying. She couldn't help but worry for him. If he didn't do his assignments or study, how would he be able to pass his class and get his degree?
