Chapter 9

The next day arrived, and Xiaodan and Li Chyou headed to class while Fu Xiang stayed behind as she didn't have any class for the day. They had planned to have lunch together once Xiaodan and Li Chyou finished class.

Today, their class was another general course, so they didn't see Feng Yichen and them. Once class was over, Xiaodan and Li Chyou returned to the dorm to pick up Fu Xiang. While they walked back, Xiaodan glanced at Li Chyou, who's been texting Zhu Haoran for quite a while now about the price on the bag. However, it seemed like Zhu Haoran refused to give an answer regarding the cost as Xiaodan saw Li Chyou tighten her lips together when she was texting.

Xiaodan felt she had completed her first step, which was to befriend Li Chyou. She knew they weren't entirely best friends, but she felt they were close enough that they could help each other when needed, which was for the best since once she finished her assignment, they would no longer have contact with each other. Once a Cupid's assistant finishes their task, the people who once knew them gradually forget them, as they become a distant memory, like a memory they have but can't remember clearly anymore.

Now, her next step was to make Li Chyou continue to tag along with Zhu Haoran so Li Chyou and Feng Yichen are bound to have contact with each other and help them kindle feelings for one another. Xiaodan felt it would be a challenge since she could tell how much Li Chyou wanted to avoid them.

"Xiaodan... Xiaodan," Li Chyou called out as she had been calling her name for quite a while.

"Huh? Sorry, what is it?" Xiaodan said, snapping out of her thoughts.

"I was telling you that we're here. I'm texting Fu Xiang that we're downstairs waiting for her." Li Chyou said, texting Fu Xiang.

A few minutes later, Fu Xiang hurriedly came out.
"Sorry for taking so long. I was putting my assignment away," she said, pushing her baby hairs out her face. Both Xiaodan and Li Chyou said they didn't mind and all headed to the cafeteria.

After they finished lunch, they went to the library for a quick stop, and then for the rest of the day, they studied and worked on their assignments except for Xiaodan. Her duty here was to help Li Chyou and Feng Yichen fall in love so she wasn't going to do extra work and make her head hurt by doing these assignments. So, when no one was looking or around, she would quietly wave her wrist, and small rays of light shot against the paper, and her assignments were completed.

The very next day Xiaodan knew that their evening class was with Feng Yichen and them. Xiaodan and Li Chyou, both, wondered how Feng Yichen would react to the item that Li Chyou bought once they entered the classroom.

Surprisingly, the three men had already arrived and were sitting in their usual spot. Once Xiaodan and Li Chyou entered, Zhu Haoran quickly shot his hand up and started waving his hand, signaling Li Chyou to come over. Li Chyou wanted to avoid Zhu Haoran as she refused to look in that direction.

"Chyou, let's go. Looks like your cousin saved us a spot," Xiaodan said.

Before Li Chyou could come up with an excuse, Xiaodan added, "And you can hand over the item you bought to Feng Yichen."

"Alright..," Li Chyou reluctantly agreed and walked towards them.

While Li Chyou and Xiaodan headed over there, those three females stared at them with great irritation and jealousy in their eyes.

Before Li Chyou sat beside Zhu Haoran, she courageously walked up to Feng Yichen, who was busy on his phone. Once she stood in front of Feng Yichen, she glanced behind him and saw his bag still had the stain at the bottom left corner. It didn't seem like he cared about it as he didn't bother cleaning it.

"U-um, here.... You can use this...to cover the stain. Also...please let me know how much your bag cost. I will repay you so you can get a new one," Li Chyou said, placing a maple leaf backpack patch sticker in front of him.

Feng Yichen lowered his phone and glanced up. He looked at the backpack patch sticker and then at Li Chyou.

"Didn't I tell Haoran that it wasn't necessary," Feng Yichen said.

"But...," Li Chyou tried to say, but Feng Yichen interrupted her.

"I really don't care about the stain. It doesn't matter," Feng Yichen said, not minding it.

"T-then please at least use the patch," Li Chyou said.

"That won't be necessary-," Feng Yichen tried to say, but Zhu Haoran grabbed the patch and then grabbed Feng Yichen's bag.

"Stop making a fuss and accept it," Zhu Haoran said, sticking the maple leaf patch on his bag as it completely covered the stain.
"There," Zhu Haoran added once he finished putting it on. For some reason, the orangish-red maple leaf complements his golden brown bag as if it was meant to be there.

"I'm somewhat jealous. Where's mine, Chyou?" Zhu Haoran asked, pouting.

"I-I did buy extra, just in case Feng Yichen wanted a different one," Li Chyou said, pulling out the extras.

Li Chyou laid out the extra patches on the table. The extras were a sun, a moon, a snowflake, and a flower.

"I was thinking of giving the sun to Xiaodan," Li Chyou said with a shy smile before picking up the sun patch and handing it to Xiaodan.

"Aww, thank you," Xiaodan said, immediately putting it on her bag.

"Then I want the snowflake since winter is my favorite season," Zhu Haoran said, taking the snowflake. The remaining two were the moon and the flower.

"Mingze, here. For you," Zhu Haoran said, handing the moon patch to Wu Mingze without waiting for his response.

Wu Mingze simply accepted it before saying, "Thank you, Li Chyou."

Li Chyou quietly smiled in response.

"Chyou, the last one is for you," Zhu Haoran said with a bright smile. Li Chyou took the flower patch as everyone had a sticker patch on their bags.
