They had headed out and were about a mile away from the capital. During the ride, Xiaodan, Chen Yang, and Zhao Ying quietly sat in the carriage, while Zhang Yuz drove the carriage as Fu Zhong, He Jingy, and Jiu Jun were on their horses.

"We never formally introduced ourselves. I'm Li Xiaodan, and this is Chen Yang," Xiaodan said.

"What's yours?" Xiaodan asked.

"There is no reason for her highness to be friendly with you," Zhang Yuz barked from outside the carriage.

Once again, Chen Yang wanted to argue back as she thought this guy was more ruder than the guy she had bumped into. Before she could open her mouth, Xiaodan chuckled.

"So you want us to stay strangers? Even though we may be stuck together for who knows how many days," Xiaodan said, shutting his mouth.

Zhao Ying once again tried to appease the situation. "I apologize again. Please don't mind him. I'm Zhao Ying."

"It's nice to meet you, Crown Princess Zhao Ying. I hope we get along during this journey," Xiaodan smiled.

"Yes," Zhao Ying frantically nodded her head and smiled as well.

Xiaodan glanced at the small creak of the window of the carriage. She felt they were getting close to the place she had planned for.

"It's a little stuffy in here," Xiaodan said, pushing the curtain aside. She looked around and made sure this was the spot. She pulled out her red handkerchief from her sleeve.

"It's a little dusty," Xiaodan added, wiping the window edge with her red handkerchief.

The rugged peasants immediately saw the signal and jumped in cue.

"Stop right there!" They shouted and blocked their path. All four of the men pulled the reins of their horses back.

"Give us all your valuables, including your horse and carriage," one of them yelled, trying to be the leader.

"Do you have a death wish?" Fu Zhong said, sending them chills down their spine, but they still stood their ground.

"Today is your death!" One of the peasants said, trying to be intimidating.

Fu Zhong and He Jingy seemed to notice that these men didn't look like bandits but ordinary peasants. They had dealt with many bandits before, and these men appeared unprepared and lacked confidence. However, before they could push them aside and walk right past them, Zhang Yuz spoke up as if he wanted to one-up Fu Zhong's intimidation.

"Funny for you. Today will be your last day," Zhang Yuz said, getting off the carriage and grabbing a hold of his sword.

At first, Xiaodan was planning to 'accidentally' kick him off the carriage once the horse went haywire so Fu Zhong could save Zhao Ying, but since he was willing to get off himself, that made it easier for her. Xiaodan glanced at the peasants, and they immediately took action.

"Attack," one of them shouted as they made it look like they were going to charge at them. One of the men in the back instantly threw a rock at the horse, which immediately startled the horse.

"AH! RETREAT! THEY HAVE THE ROYAL ARMY PENDANT!" one of the men shouted as they saw the royal army pendant on Zhang Yuz's waist. They immediately ran in every direction.

"NEIGH!" The horse immediately raised its front legs in fright before sprinting away with the carriage behind it.

"Ah," the three girls yelped as they were thrown from side to side in the carriage.
