Soon, He Jingy had departed for the Eastern borders. Along the way, he encountered another Cupid's assistant, and he would immediately expose them and shut them down. This went on again and again.
After Xiaodan had left, he soon started to forget her. He realized the others were too. He couldn't let that happen. He couldn't forget her. At first, he didn't understand. He was pretty good at remembering, but he figured it was them who were making him forget. Before he could slowly forget her, thankfully, he had the scar on his wrist. Every time he glanced at it, he would remember her.
The years of protecting the eastern borders went by, and he remained a bachelor, but he was the most respectable general of all time. During the years, he remained steady in remembering her. Soon enough, he reached old age and retired from being a general and passed it down to one of his loyal subordinates. He still remained at the eastern border until the very end. Even though it wasn't a clear picture, he still remembered her as he breathed out his last breath with a smile and gazed at the scar on his wrist.

In his second life, Wu Mingze grew up in a loving family that supported him in anything he did. However, the only thing they wanted from him was to bring a partner home, but he never did. They tried setting him up with dates. They even tried matchmaking him, getting the best matchmaker. They also privately hired someone to help, but all failed. No matter how many they hired, nothing exceeded. He would constantly tell his parents that he was too busy with work or that he was waiting for the right one.
"Again! Why didn't you like her this time?" his mother complained once again.
"Mother, how many times have I told you. I'm not interested in getting into a relationship yet," he once again said.
"NOT interested in getting a relationship! Do you know how old you are or how old I am? I want grandchildren. I'm not getting any younger here?" his mother said.
"Isn't my little sister in a relationship with that guard?" he said instead.
"Well...yes, but I still want grandkids from you," his mother said softly.
"Well, I haven't met the right one yet," he said.
"The right one. How do you know they are not the right ones when you haven't given them a chance?" his mother once again complained.
"I can't explain it...," he said, heading to his room.
"Oh, mother. The person you hired once again is very persistent. Tell them to stop bothering me, or don't blame me for cutting ties with you," he said, stopping for a brief moment before walking away.
Once he arrived in his room, he threw his general suit jacket on the chair and started to unbutton his sleeves. He rolled his sleeves, and soon he saw his red birthmark. He brushed against it and slowly thought to himself.
He didn't know how to explain it, but he felt like he was waiting for someone...the one. Every person he had met never caught his attention or felt interested in. For some reason, he has this longing, but didn't know where to find it.
Soon enough, he died in the line of work at a young age without ever getting into a relationship.
