The entire night, Xiaodan coughed and coughed until the morning arrived. Xiaodan weakly got up before reaching out for her water bottle. The cool water soothed her throat.
"Xiaodan, you still don't look so good, and you've been coughing all night. I think you should go to the hospital," Li Chyou walked up to her after she finished getting dressed.
"I'm fine," Xiaodan's voice cracked as she used her curtain bangs and makeup to cover up the markings on her forehead.
She cleared her throat, "If I still don't feel any better later, I will."
Li Chyou reluctantly stopped persuading her and nodded her head. "I think it's best for you to rest for the day today."
Xiaodan thought MengYao would probably be looking for her.
"No, I'm fine. I should be okay," Xiaodan said, getting off her bed.

On their way to class, Xiaodan immediately noticed a familiar back.
"Senior Zixin?" Xiaodan said in a cracked voice. The tall man turned around and gave out a sweet smile.
"Xiaodan, there you are," he said. Xiaodan soon noticed MengYao behind him. She coughed before she gave a soft sigh of relief.
"How are you? You look worse," MengYao said, pushing Senior Zixin out of the way.
Xiaodan cleared her throat, "I'm alright."
"Umm... who might you be?" Li Chyou politely asked.
Before either Xiaodan or MengYao could speak, Senior Zixin cleared his throat, "Hello, we are Xiaodan's cousins. We came today because something happened back home, and we are here to pick up Xiaodan. It will take at least a week or 2 before she can come back," Senior Zixin greeted Li Chyou and then directed his attention to Xiaodan. "I already put in a leave of absence for you, Xiaodan," he added.
"Ah, I see it...I'm Xiaodan's roommate," Li Chyou nodded her head, forgetting that Xiaodan had called him Senior.
"You should also take Xiaodan to the hospital. She isn't feeling well," Li Chyou added.
"Oh, I see," Senior Zixin said, getting close to Xiaodan. He slightly lifted the cap from her head and placed his hand on her forehead.
"Looks like you have a fever," he casually said, feeling her temp. Before she could look up at Senior Zixin, a hand appeared and grabbed his wrist, trying to remove it from touching Xiaodan. Immediately, Xiaodan looked at the man gripping Senior Zixin's wrist, while Wu Mingze and Senior Zixin stared at each other.
"Who may you be to my little cousin?" Senior Zixin casually said, looking at Wu Mingze, but also used his other hand to lower Xiaodan's cap to cover her markings.
"Cousin?" Wu Mingze relaxed his eyes and raised his eyebrows before releasing Senior Zixin's wrist.
"Ah, yes," Xiaodan answered, out of reflex once Wu Mingze shot her a glance.
"Sorry," Wu Mingze said, quick and simple.
"It's alright," Senior Zixin just sweetly smiled as if he didn't mind. "And you are?" he asked.
"I'm Wu Mingze, one of Zhao Xiaodan's classmates," Wu Mingze answered.
"Ah, Wu Mingze...," Senior Zixin said as he looked at him before scanning him up and down, and he continued to linger his gaze on him. It felt like he knew something more as he continued to size him up.
MengYao felt something wasn't right with Senior Zixin's gaze, so she cleared her throat. "Shouldn't we be leaving, Zixin Ge," MengYao said, playing their roles as cousins.
"Ah, yes." Senior Zixin said, snapping out of his thoughts.
"Who may you be?" Zhu Haoran said, coming from behind Wu Mingze and looking at MengYao with a smile.
MengYao gave out a subtle smile and answered, "I'm also Xiaodan's cousin."
"Cousins?" Zhu Haoran questioned, looking at the three of them. "You guys don't have any resemblance with each other at all," he added.
"That's because we are distant cousins," Senior Zixin answered without any hesitation.
"Oh, I see. It's nice to meet you two. I'm also one of Xiaodan's classmates," Zhu Haoran said with a bright smile. "Same with him," Zhu Haoran pointed behind him to Feng Yichen, who was standing at the back. Zhu Haoran sweetly gazed at MengYao, but soon, Senior Zixin stepped in, blocking MengYao from his sight.
"It's a pleasure to meet you all as well," Senior Zixin said with a sweet smile.
"But I think we should head on out," Senior Zixin added.
Xiaodan instantly answered, " Yes. Let me get my stuff. You guys go ahead and get to class. I will see you guys when I come back."
"Xiaodan, don't forget to keep in touch," Li Chyou said, grabbing both of Xiaodan's hands.
"Ah...yeah...," Xiaodan sheepishly said, knowing she won't be able to contact them once she goes back. There was no connection up there.
"Good," Li Chyou breathed out a sigh of relief. "Also, don't forget to go to the doctor," she added. Xiaodan just nodded her head.
"I will," Xiaodan smiled, making Li Chyou feel at ease. "Alright, you guys should go before you guys are late for class," Xiaodan added, urging them to leave.
"Oh, yeah!" Li Chyou said, realizing the time. Soon, they all were leaving. Once Wu Mingze was passing Xiaodan, he placed his hand on her head and whispered to her.
"Get better. I'll keep you updated on them." Xiaodan looked up at him, slightly surprised. She didn't expect or think he would do that for her.
"It...," she tried to say it was okay and that he didn't need to, but he patted her head and continued.
"See you soon," he gave a smile to her, leaving her speechless.
