"Are you two alright?" Jiu Jun asked, looking at them on the ground, all chained up.
"Where's Chen Yang? Is she fine?" Xiaodan asked.
"She's fine. We brought her home. It's not safe for her to join us," Jiu Jun answered, opening the cell door.
"Are you hurt anywhere?" He Jingy asked, looking at Xiaodan. Once the door opened, he went straight to Xiaodan.
"I'm fine," Xiaodan answered, trying to move. He Jingy breathed a sigh of relief. They quickly unchained them.
"We must hurry before they get here," He Jingy said, crouching down to free her chains on her wrist.
"Whose idea was it to light this place on fire?" Xiaodan asked, looking at him.
"Mines. To distract them and stall them from coming after us," he answered. "Come, let's hurry." He Jingy got up and lent his hand to her.
Xiaodan looked up at him before taking his hand. Before she followed after him, she tripped on the chains.
"Careful," He Jingy said, catching her in time.
"Sorry," she meekly said as they hurried out of the cell.
They soon saw that the guards had come from the side without the fire. He Jingy and Jiu Jun hoped the guard would go from the other side with the fire so they couldn't chase after them, and that they could escape through the side without the fire. They saw that their calculation was wrong.
The guards surrounded them and blocked the path, leaving no escape, and slowly pushed them towards the fire to trap them.
"We must go through the fire," He Jingy shouted to Jiu Jun. He led Xiaodan in the direction of the fire.
As they ran towards the fire with the guards chasing after them, Xiaodan was contemplating whether she should use her bracelet or not. The only people who knew she wasn't mortal were Yinuo and Zhang Yuz. She couldn't expose herself even more, but it wasn't possible for them to escape through the blazing fire. She had to be subtle in using her bracelet.
Once they reached the flaming fire, Jiu Jun scanned for an opening for them to escape, but could not spot any.
"We have to jump over the fire!" Jiu Jun shouted, looking at He Jingy. He Jingy nodded his head, gripping Xiaodan's hand.
"That's not necessary," Yinuo spoke, "I can create a small opening for us to go through," she said, forcing herself to accumulate any power she had and waving her hand as water appeared out of her hand and sprayed towards the flames. It created a small opening for them to enter. They quickly escaped. Once they passed the flames, Xiaodan knew she had to act quickly, or the fire would spread to them and trap them in. She purposely tripped and yanked her hand free from He Jingy's grasp.
"Ah," she softly groaned, falling onto the ground. She looked behind her and saw the guards trying to chase after them through the small opening. One of the guards raised his sword. Xiaodan's eyes gleamed. She deliberately acted as if she was scared and swung her arms up to cover her head, making her wave her bracelet. She used the bracelet to help push the fire to close the opening and make the flames bigger so the guards couldn't jump over. The first set of rays, appearing as sparks, shot out from the heart-shaped bell and made the fire spread, closing the opening and making the guards move back. The heart-shaped bell glowed in heat, preparing to shoot the last spark to ignite the flames more. Before it shot out, He Jingy grabbed onto her hand, getting hit instead. And as he brushed against the hot heart-shaped bell, it burned his skin.
He Jingy made a low groan as he felt a sting on his wrist.
"Are you alright!" Xiaodan worriedly said, looking at the bright red marking on his wrist. She wanted to check on the wound as she tried to reach out with her other hand to touch his arm. He wanted to comfort her with words, but there was no time for that as he quickly pulled her up.
"Hurry, let's go," he urged her, pulling her away as he held her hand tightly. Xiaodan worriedly looked at him then to his wound as they ran together.

They had barely escaped as they finally made it outside with dust and ash on their clothes and faces. They were stunned to find Zhang Yuz had stumbled back to his residence, but the look on his face seemed desperate and in a hurry, as if he was rushing to come here or being chased after. It didn't take long before Fu Zhong and Zhao Ying were after him with an army behind them.
Zhang Yuz had his sword out as he looked in both directions as they were on both sides of him. However, soon Zhang Yuz's guards had came out of the burning building and were behind them. He Jingy faced Zhang Yuz's guards while Jiu Jun faced Zhang Yuz as they both placed Yinuo and Xiaodan between them.
"Zhang Yuz, surrender now," Fu Zhong said, standing on guard.
"Why should I? Either way will end badly for me," Zhang Yuz remarked with a smirk. It wasn't long before his eyes landed on Zhao Ying's hand on Fu Zhong's arm, and how close she stood behind him.
"Ha. Zhao Ying, do you know why you like that guy? It's because of her. She is one of Cupid's assistants. The god of love. She made you fall in love with him!" Zhang Yuz shouted, pointing his sword at Xiaodan. They all looked at Xiaodan before Fu Zhong and Zhao Ying glanced at each other.
Xiaodan sighed as she saw them staring at her, confused. She looked at Zhang Yuz and saw that he had already gone mad to the point of no return. She saw there was no reason to deny it anymore.
"Like I said before, I don't force love. I only help guide the people who are meant to fall in love with each other. But even without me, they would probably still be together by getting married for alliance, and I think you know that," Xiaodan calmly said, looking at Zhang Yuz.
"Shut up," Zhang Yuz refused to listen anymore and gripped his sword tighter.
"Zhang Yuz, I'm sorry that I can't reciprocate your feelings. I always see you as an older brother...," Zhao Ying softly said, looking at him sadly.
"Hah, of course you did... I never wanted you to think of me as a brother," Zhang Yuz looked at Zhao Ying with complete sadness.
"I'm sorry...," Zhao Ying said, squeezing onto Fu Zhong's arm. Fu Zhong placed his hand on her to comfort her. Zhang Yu saw their tender moment, and his eyes grew dark.
"If I can't be happy, then no one should either! I hope you all continue to suffer in this drought!" Zhang Yuz roared, charging towards Yinuo like a madman, as it triggered his soldiers to attack as well. He Jingy quickly raised his sword, protecting Xiaodan. Fu Zhong's army instantly charged into battle. Both Xiaodan and Yinuo took part in the fight. Yinuo used any power she had left in her to fight off the soldiers. Xiaodan waved her hand, sending the guards flying instead of killing them. She didn't want to kill anyone and be punished for using her powers to kill human beings.
Fu Zhong stayed behind to protect Zhao Ying.
"Go and help. I'll be fine. If he comes to me, he won't hurt me. So go help," Zhao Ying reassured Fu Zhong. Fu Zhong looked at her, hesitating, before pulling out a small dagger.
"Take this," he said and hurried towards Zhang Yuz.
Zhang Yuz raised his sword, striking towards Yinuo, who was distracted by other soldiers. Jiu Jun tried to block his sword with his sword, but Zhang Yuz shoved Jiu Jun out of the way with his sword and continued charging at Yinuo. Yinuo finally noticed Zhang Yuz. She weakly swung her hand to defend herself; however, nothing came out. She had completely used up all her strength and power. She looked at him unafraid as he charged at her. Zhang Yuz quickly pulled out a black dagger and aimed it at her heart. In the split second he could stab her, Jiu Jun blocked the attack with his body, taking the dagger in his heart. Jiu Jun quickly took this opportunity to thrust his sword into Zhang Yuz.
"JUN!" Fu Zhong shouted as both Jiu Jun and Zhang Yuz fell to the ground.
