Chapter 79

With everyone sleeping and in the middle of the night, Xiaodan headed to the water dragon's room. She softly knocked on the door and was greeted by Yinuo.

"What brings you here?" Yinuo asked, allowing Xiaodan to enter.

Xiaodan entered the room and saw Yinuo sitting by an open window, with tea on the table.

"Sit," Yinuo gestured before taking a drink out of her cup. She set the cup down and looked at Xiaodan. "So why have you come? For a chat?" Yinuo said, raising an eyebrow.

"Somewhat," Xiaodan answered.

"Then do so," Yinuo said, gesturing her to continue.

"May I say. It's quite an honor to meet you, water dragon." Xiaodan said, pouring herself a cup of tea and toasting it to her.

"Mmm. And you are? I can tell you are not a mere mortal." Yinuo said, sipping her tea again.

Xiaodan smiled, "Indeed, I am not a simple mortal."

"So who are you?" Yinuo said, looking at her.

"I'm one of Cupid's assistants," Xiaodan answered.

"Oh, I have heard of you before," Yinuo said, placing her cup down.

"Mmm," Xiaodan nodded her head.

"Helping mortals fall in love with one another. How sweet...It must be nice to see two people falling in love," Yinuo gazed out the window.

"But you have it easy....," she added.

"Huh?" Xiaodan looked at the water dragon.

"To have the feeling of love removed from your emotions. I wish I had that ability, then I would never have to experience those feelings and emotions," Yinuo said, still looking at the sky and into the night.

"But you learn from them and grow," Xiaodan said softly.

"Ha...ha, is that so. It doesn't feel like it," Yinuo quietly chuckled, gazing at the bright moon.

"Right now, it doesn't feel like it, but down the road you will see," Xiaodan smiled. Yinuo looked at her and saw Xiaodan's reassuring smile and clear eyes.

"Alright, if you say so," Yinuo replied honestly, picking up the cup again.

Xiaodan smiled brighter and took a sip of tea as they watched the night sky.

Up on the rooftop, lurking in the dark night, Zhang Yuz and his henchman had quietly listened to their conversation before slipping into the shadows. They arrived back in his room.

"Young master, what are you thinking about?" his henchman said, seeing that he was up to something.

"Send a message. We are leaving soon, and tell them to be ready. We are also taking the water dragon and that Cupid assistant with us...," Zhang Yuz answered.

"Yes, Young master," the henchman said, and was about to take his leave.

"Oh, one more thing...I have a task for you. I want you to see if you can find a mythical, demonic, or any sort of weapon that can kill an immortal being. Also, bring in some strong chains to lock them up. Once they fall asleep, we will capture them," Zhang Yuz added as his gaze became darker.

In the dark of the night, a cloth covered Xiaodan and Yinuo's noses and mouths when they were sleeping, making them fall into deeper slumber.
