Ominis made it into the Slytherin common room unnoticed, hoping Diana had been able to do the same with hers. It was easy enough to sneak back into and around the castle, he thought maybe the prefects were giving everyone some slack on the first night back. He was going to make his way up to his room, when someone over near the fireplace called out to him. He dropped his disillusionment charm and turned to face them.
"What are you doing up?"
"Waiting for you," Sebastian responded casually.
He scoffed, "well I'm here, go to bed."
He started walking towards the stairs, hearing the other boy get up to follow.
"So what did you guys talk about?" He asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
"Cats." the blind boy replied flatly.
Sebastian stopped "Cats? Why were you talking about cats?"
Ominis didn't answer and continued to their room, his friend again following close behind as they entered.
"You mean to tell me you guys stayed out this late just to talk about cats?" he whispered as they entered their room- trying not to wake their other roommates.
Still with no response, he made his way to his trunk, pulling out his clothes to get ready for bed. He could still feel his friends' eyes burning into him from behind, so he stopped.
"She showed me the stars okay." He didn't want to explain further, but figured it was enough to let him stew in silence.
"She showed you the stars?" he replied a bit too loudly. Ominis shushed him.
They both got dressed silently and into their respective beds. He was starting to drift to sleep as he heard Sebastian whisper;
"Wow she showed a blind man the stars. Damn, what can't that ancient magic do?"
He chucked, turned over, and went to sleep.
