Chapter 86: Ominis- wrapping presents

"Does Master Ominis need any help?"

"No, I've got it." He felt around the wrapping and placed the box on the highest point. At least he could do this part, well he could have wrapped the whole thing but he figured it wouldn't look very present like then.

"Master Ominis' friends will love them, Tilly is sure." He felt the house elf pick up the present from in front of him and place it with the others.

"Actually if we are done will you please place them into the bag, I don't want to forget them."

He heard her scurry around completing his task. With the presents inside there was nothing left for him to pack. He had brought most of his belongings to school with him at the start of the year, but when he came back for the holiday he made it a point to place anything he had left in his travel bag.

"It seems like Master Ominis will be leaving nothing else in his room- makes it seem so empty."

The little elf had been around longer than he had- she was a multigenerational house elf for the Gaunt family. Her siblings and parents had also once been employed here, but Marvolo saw to her being the last one. Ominis felt an attachment to her, and he knew she felt the same- although it was probably easy to get attached to the only decent person in the whole manor.

"Did Master Ominis invite his friends to the party?"

"I did, they will both be coming, but I didn't expect us to even have a party. I just asked if I could invite them to Christmas Eve dinner but it seems to have gotten out of hand."

"Oh yes it is quite a surprise isn't it, Tilly hasn't had to prepare for a party since she was a young elf. Tilly is hoping that everything goes well."

Ominis felt a pit in his stomach form again- he was really hoping it all went well too.
