Author note:
Guys it has been a hot minute since I have written in this story. I found that as my stories started to reach their peak it because more difficult for me to be able to focus. Lots of stuff gets serious at climax and that is more difficult for me to write so it was easier just to focus on a different project.
BUT I will not let this die without being finished so here I am again. Actually this chapter was written months ago and I just didn't post it for some reason. After this point it will be writing now vs me writing months ago. I realized that my writing style has already changed A LOT in just a few months. So you may feel like there is a shift in story telling after this chapter, but I will do my best to stay in the mold I previously created for this story.

Diana waited nervously around the corner for her friend. She wanted to give him space, and also she was afraid to see what his facial reactions to the letter would be. Anne had told her that she was going to write to him soon, and as soon as he held up the letter she knew.
Neither her or Ominis had pressured the other Sallow to write to her brother- they had made sure of that. She knew though that the blind boy's letters were as honest as hers as far as what was happening with Sebastian. There had been such a huge change in him, it was hard for their descriptions of him not to sound like they were trying to convince her.
She paced back and forth, biting the skin of her knuckles as she did so. Really she didn't even know what the letter was going to say. She hoped that maybe it was along the lines of reconciliation, but really it could be anything. She tried to keep her footsteps quiet as she walked- she was so anxious but she didn't want to disturb him. Should she have just left him to read alone? Ugh too late now. She would need to cross in front of him to get back to the door.
They had been down there for what felt like a long time, but Diana was so focused on her footsteps that it was hard to tell. Her knuckles were red from the relentless attempts to cope and the cold damp air. She was so enthralled in all her movements that she didn't notice that Sebastian had turned the corner and was looking at her. It was a few moments of her being oblivious before he spoke.
"You're going to make a hole in the ground if you keep that-" she was so startled by his words that she slipped in her next step and started to fall backward. Thankfully the boy had some fast quidditch reflexes, and reached out to grab her hand before she could hit the ground.
He pulled her forward so fast she got a little bit of whiplash, but that was way better than a concussion.
"Th-thanks-" she said, removing her hand and straightening out her clothes "- also sorry, I didn't realize you were done. How um, how are you feeling?"
She looked him over, realizing now that his face showed signs of recently crying. She froze, unsure of what kind of tears they had been. For an answer he just grinned at her and held his arms open wide.
"I'm going to hug you okay? If you don't want me to please speak now or forever hold your peace?"
She just stared with wide eyes, feeling a bit confused. Was he upset and needed comfort? No, but he was smiling. Was he happy and just wanted uh... comfort? Either way, she wanted to accept it if that's what she needed. She nodded her head and a moment later was enveloped in his embrace.
She attempted to try to hug him back, but he was squeezing so tight around her arms she couldn't move them. Now she was really confused because this felt more like the kind of hug Poppy gave her when she was happy to see her. Why was Sebastian so happy to see her? She didn't write him the letter.
