Ominis was sitting bored, waiting for Sebastian to get back. They were working on turning vinegar into wine for their charms class, but there was no way he was going to test it on his own. He didn't have the luxury of just looking at the color content of the liquid, and there was no way that he was going to give it a taste test after every attempt. They had been at it for a while when the other boy excused himself to use the bathroom. Now Ominis had been waiting for what felt like ages. He was about to give up on the task and move onto something else when Sebastian came crashing through the room.

"Did you get lost on your way, or did you just have an exceptionally rough go at it?"

There was no response, just more stomping towards him. Then he heard the boy reach out and grab the goblet they had been practicing with.

"What are you-"

There was gagging and then coughing and Ominis felt liquid spray against his face. He jumped up and yelled in disgust.

"Did you just bloody drink that? Are you mental??" he wiped his face on his sleeve, feeling absolutely repulsed by the turn of events.

"You managed to get the red color, and the alcohol, but it still tasted like vinegar." The other boy coughed again, this time at least it sounded like he covered his mouth.

"You have absolutely lost your mind." The blind boy chided, wondering if he now had stains on his clothes.

The room was silent then, and he noticed that things were suddenly very tense. He was debating on questioning his sanity again or asking if something was wrong when his friend spoke first;

"I saw Diana with Garreth again..."

"Bloody hell Sebastian! You said you were using the loo!?"

"Well I got side tracked-"

"Yeah right, just wandered yourself around the whole castle until you spotted them did you? I told you not to talk to her!"

"I didn't!" Sebastian countered

"Then why in Merlin's name did you come barreling in here like a crazed beast? The sight of her with another human being made you drain a glass of vinegar?!"

"Well I was hoping you had gotten the charm right and I would have been drinking wine."

"Still! You're not even talking to her right now, why do you care?? You've been making her miserable all month and when she finally is having a good time you suddenly become unbearably wretched that you attempt to drown some sorrows with shit wine?"

He didn't answer this, but Ominis could hear him breathing heavily. This bull of a man just couldn't keep it together anymore- he sounded like a crazed animal. He always seemed to let his emotions take the lead, and things were just getting out of hand again. Sure it was better than getting into the dark arts, but could he just have one day without this absurd stupidity?

"She held his hand..." his friend's voice was quiet, but his aura still seemed enraged.

This comment froze him- Diana was willingly holding someone's hand? No, not someone's hand, it was Weasley's hand. Sure she semi frequently held his own hand, but that was just to help him move around, there wasn't anything else to it. But she was on a date with the other boy, and even in normal circumstances she didn't like to be touched at all. Now she is fine showing that kind of affection?

He was almost about to question his friend about who instigated the interaction, but he quickly shook himself from his thoughts. This was not the time to be indulging his craziness.

"It doesn't matter if you saw them snogging- it should mean nothing to you. You don't want anything to do with her."

There was no response, so he decided to leave it there. He moved around and started collecting his things. After packing up he headed to the door, but stopped just before heading out. He turned towards where he had left Sebastian.

"I think you've let this go on long enough. You need to stop looking out at Diana, or Anne, or me to solve what you have going on. If you don't look in and start making changes, you are going to be stuck as vinegar for the rest of your life."

Then he opened the door, and headed towards the laundry. He hoped that his friend's stupidity wasn't going to stain his clothes.
