Every time Garreth planned to do something with Diana he always felt he could never feel more nervous. Yet here he was; feeling more nervous than he thought possible while he waited to meet her at their designated meeting place near the collection of house points. At least he wasn't alone in his nerves though. He was actually waiting with Lucan, apparently their dates were getting ready together so they had planned to all meet up together. The 5th year looked as nervous as he felt.

He and the younger Gryffindor boy didn't talk though, not because they didn't want to, but because it seemed they were both distracted. Garreth kept checking the hallway towards where the stairs leading to the Hufflepuff common room was. He didn't want to be too weird and stare nonstop at it, but it was basically the same thing by how much he was looking back and forth.

He was so fixated on the hallway he didn't even notice Poppy coming down the stairs just to the other side. By the time he did notice her she was already to them, and he jumped in surprise when Lucan spoke to her.

"You look incredibly Poppy!" Garreth peered over at the boy and saw he was transfixed on the Hufflepuff. He laughed quietly, he didn't realize Lucan could be so engrossed in something other than dueling.

"Thank you! You look great too!" Poppy smiled at her date, but then turned to face Garreth. "Diana is right behind me- I made her traipse through the castle with me so we could come down the staircase for a dramatic entrance of sorts."

He nodded and turned to look up to the top of the stairs- and that's when he saw her. Even from far away the sight of her took his breath away. His heart threatened to burst right out of his chest, and he even inadvertently clutched it as he watched her make her way down.

She was radiant- an entire goddess clad in emerald green. Her dress swished around her as she moved down, making it look like she was actually floating. As she got closer she somehow became even more beautiful. The dress fit her body like a glove, every curve above her waist was covered perfectly by the fabric. It made his heart continue to defy all odds, beating far beyond what mortal life could contain.

And then there was everything that the dress didn't cover. Her face was perfect as always, and the green of her dress made her eyes shine an even brighter green. Her hair was twisted up behind her, with curled strands pulled out around the front. With her hair back it gave more focus to her exposed neckline and shoulders. Her dress hung low off her shoulders and also lined the top of her breasts.

He literally had forgotten how to breathe as he looked at her and it only came back to him as he got a slap on the back from Lucan. He took in a shaky breath as she walked up to him, looking at a smile that literally stopped his heart.

"Y-you look beautiful" was all he was able to get out, and it was so much quieter than he meant it to be. This time it was Lucan's turn to snicker at him, but he didn't care' Literally nothing mattered outside of the breathtaking girl in front of him.

Her cheeks turned pink as she looked away for a moment before thanking him. She seemed a bit out of place, which he could understand, knowing her like he did. She loathed being in any form of attention. He wanted to make her feel comfortable, but he also could not take his eyes off of her.

"We're going to go in, we'll see you two later okay?" Garreth didn't even look towards the other couple to say goodbye, it was physically impossible to look anywhere else.

Finally she met his eyes again; "It's really good to see you. I um I have your Christmas present." She sheepishly held up a small box that he hadn't realized she had been holding in her hands.
