I like the color scheme. The font is small, but other than that, the cover is excellent.
Title:
At first, I wasn't sure about the title. It sounded decent, but I was unsure why this would be the title. Then, when I started reading, it made sense. The title goes perfectly with the book. It is easy to remember, too. Great title.
Blurb: 8/10
The blurb isn't bad but there are some things that made it a little weak. "Only" is said 3 times and I feel like that's a bit much, considering the blurb isn't that long. Besides that the blurb does do what it should, introduces the characters, gives a little insight on the plot, and gets the reader wondering what will happen. Overall the blurb is good, but it could use a little work.
Character: 10/10
The characters were amazing. Gri's voice was written perfectly, and considering she's so young that's amazing. I find most of the time children are written either too young, or not young enough and at five it's hard to figure out how to write her thoughts but I think you did a good job. My youngest sister is almost five and she says things vey similar to Gri.
Adiscordia is written just as well. At first I thought she was older by a lot more but then I saw that she isn't much older. At first I felt she was written I little too old but then I remembered oldest siblings tend to grow up a bit quicker. I know I did. So I think she's written well too. She such a great character as well. She really makes the story into something bigger with her selfless heart and the fact that she's trying so hard to be perfect to save her sister. :(
Plot: 19/20
The plot is intriguing and paced perfectly. The first chapter hooked my attention by introducing the curse. The way you introduced it was phenomenal.
Then the second chapter added to the first chapter but in Adiscordia's pov instead of Gri's. I liked that while you kept the plot moving you also showed us what Adiscordia was doing before and during ending of chapter one when the darkness went after Gri.
Chapter three tried to lighten up the curse with the gift of the gods, only it sounds slightly miserable. This is also when I understood the meaning of the title. And when I realized Adicordia was 7. Which really took me by surprise. I was thinking close to teen if not early teen.
Chapter four: great way to transition time. And chapter five was great as well. I enjoyed the scene with the doll maker because it gives more insight to how other people treated the rich and poor people differently. Very important scene.
Writing style: 20/20
The writing in this is amazing. Your use of words is masterful. Like seriously wow. You paint the scenes perfectly and the dialogue just flows with the prose. The best way to describe your writing is lyrical.
Very well done.
Grammar/spelling/vocabulary: 9/10
I spotted a few errors but they weren't bad at all.
Enjoyment: 10/10
I really enjoyed reading this. The characters were interesting and the plot has me hooked. The writing is also beautiful.
Overall: 95/100
Overall, you have a marvelous book. The characters are perfect for the plot and the writing is tremendous. I will have to keep reading because I need to know what will happen next.
