Part 7: talking to Brad

We got quite a lot of food as we needed it to last a week for four people before we do next weeks shopping. "Someone needs to get a job because we are going to run out of money very quickly." Rebekah said as she paid for the food. "I can get one if you want?" I asked. "I think Hannah should get a job." Rebekah suggested as we picked up the bags and walked out of the shop. "Why?" I asked. "Because then she will be out the way of Brad and because she is the only one that knows what she wants to do as a job." She replied. "You can ask her but she probably won't want to." I replied.

I then heard my phone buzz in my pocket and took it out.

Where are you? X
1 message to Brad:
At Tesco with Rebekah, we are just coming back now. Why?
1 message from Brad:
Oh, ok. I just wanted to know what your answer is to the question I asked this morning x
1 message to Brad:
Can I talk to you about it when I get back? X
1 message from Brad:
Yeah, sure x

I put my phone away and took a breath. I'm nervous about having to talk to Brad and I'm wondering if I am going to walk in on Brad with Hannah.

Eventually me and Rebekah got back to the apartment and a couple of minutes later we heard a knock on the door. Hannah got up to get it and Brad was standing there.

"Oh, hi Brad. Have you come to see me?" She asked.
"Erm, no. I have come to talk to Chloe." He replied.

I smiled to myself as I heard that Brad wants to talk to me and not Hannah. I walked over to the door and saw him standing there, looking as perfect as he always does. He smiled at me and I smiled back.

"Do you mind if we maybe meet up next week instead?" I asked. He looked quite disappointed and that made me feel bad. "Erm, yeah. Sure." He replied. "It's not you! I just... Wanna get settled in first." I replied. He nodded and smiled at me. "Can I talk to you outside for a minute?" He asked and I nodded.

We walked down the corridor a bit and then Brad stopped in front of me. "Are you ok?" He asked and I nodded. "Yeah, I'm just trying to settle in and Hannah isn't helping really." I replied and Brad nodded. He pulled me into a hug and for a moment I was quite shocked, after a while I hugged him back and for once I felt safe and protected. He pulled away and then walked me back to my apartment. "I will see yah later." He said and I nodded and walked back into my apartment.
