— What is your dream, my daughter?
— I want to travel the whole world, Mother.
— And yours, Mother, what is your dream?
— My dream is to keep this moment,
where it is just the two of us,
forever.
But our dreams
were never fulfilled.
I was left only with photographs,
mirrors of a smile I no longer see.
With toys,
witnesses of your boundless imagination.
With memories,
fragments of laughter
still echoing in the silence of the house.
I would give everything
just to hear your voice again
calling out to me.
You were my heart,
my world,
the reason for each day.
And when you left,
you took with you everything I was.
My heart broke,
my world collapsed,
my life lost its meaning.
I just want to go back,
to that pure moment,
when it was only us,
mother and daughter,
and happiness felt eternal.
