No one's pov

Germany sat uncomfortably in front of his closest friends and his brother beginning to wonder if calling them to help him was a good idea. He fidgeted stiffly under their confused gazes. What he wanted was something so simple, yet so hard. It was the question of how he felt towards his housemate, (Y/N).

"Spit it out, West! The awesome me doesn't have all day!" Prussia yelled. Germany flinched inwardly, not used to being quite so embarrassed about telling them anything.

"How might I know if I love somebody?" He asked. Italy's eyes opened at the question, Japan sat forward with an interested look on his face, and Prussia jumped off the couch with a loud whoop of excitement. Germany quickly hushed him, knowing that (Y/N) was still asleep in the other room. He was also aware of the fact that she wouldn't be up for another few hours, seeing it was only nine in the morning.

"Ve~ Germany's in love!" Italy cheered, quietly. He was also aware of the sleeping girl in the next room and he didn't want to wake her. She was scary when she was awakened so rudely.

"I didn't say that!" He snapped at the small, Italian boy. Italy pouted up at his larger friend, on the verge of tears from being yelled at. Germany sighed, patting him awkwardly on the shoulder. "Never mind. I may be, that's why I asked."

"Well, Germany-san, it might help to know who you think so fondly of," Japan said softly. That's what he was afraid of. Of course they'd want to know who. Prussia loudly agreed with Japan, moving from his chair to sling an arm around his younger brother. Germany blinked at them, not sure if he should bother to tell them that it was the (H/C) haired girl in the next room. "If you are not inclined to give a name, perhaps you could tell us about them?"

"Yes, I suppose that would work just as well. Let's see, she's got (H/L), (H/C) hair, highly expressive (E/C) eyes, she fairly (short/tall). One of the best soldiers I've ever met and one of the toughest opponents I've seen strategy wise. She doesn't take much of anything seriously and she always has this stupid grin on her face," He said, beginning to lose himself in the thought of (Y/N). The way she moved, the way she spoke, the way she carried herself. He just found every aspect of her so interesting.

"What else?" Italy asked, leaning into Germany's face. He wasn't the best judge of personal space but, over the years, Germany had gotten used to it.

"Well, hmm, she's confident and fearless. It doesn't matter to her what anybody says as long as she's happy. She dances when there isn't any music playing and her singing is horrendous, yet oddly endearing. Always humming something while she's working, even if she is tone deaf. Not much of a talker, but always gets to the point when she has to. It's possible that she seems a bit 'boyish' to others, but there's something about her that makes her seem so delicate, but so strong willed that makes me think that there's more to her than most will ever give her credit for," He said, smiling to himself.

"It sounds like love to me, West!" Prussia laughed. Japan nodded wordlessly and Italy enthusiastically hugged Germany as he agreed. They hadn't noticed that, in the commotion of congratulations, (Y/N) had rolled out of bed and padded into the living room.

"What sounds like love?" She yawned, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. Everybody stopped for a second, looking back at her like they forgotten that she lived there as well.

"Germany's in love!" Italy yelled, running over to (Y/N) and grabbing her (S/T) hand. She smiled sleepily at the easily excited Italian, patting his hand.

"Congrats, Germ- boy. Who's the lucky lady or man, if that's your thing?" (Y/N) asked, combing her thin fingers through her tangled, slept on hair.
