Chapter Beta

Epsilon breathed in slowly, inhaling the warm air. "Yeah, this is great," He said. They had been enjoying their freedom. Doing what they wanted, when they wanted, where they wanted. No more fighting for their own lives, no more tests, they were free.

"Yes we are," Beta said reading his mind. "We are fre-" Beta said but never finished her sentence. Her eyes grew wide and she turned her head to look somewhere to the left. Epsilon groaned. He had seen that look before. Someone was in trouble and needed help.

"Come on lets go," Beta said standing up and running away.

"But I haven't finished my coffee yet!" Epsilon yelled at her as she ran off. "Dang it," he said and put his drink down and put several bills on the table before running off after her. He turned a corner he saw her run down and saw her standing there waiting, pacing as if she was in a hurry.

"What happened?" Epsilon asked.

"Armed bank robber," Beta said. "Several blocks down."

"Ok, I'll chase him down, you follow from above," Epsilon said putting an arm on her shoulder. It slowly turned invisible and spread to the rest of her body. With in a matter of a few seconds, they were both fully invisible. They could both see each other however. Once your eyes were invisible you could see other invisible things. Epsilon didn't know how it worked, he just knew it did.

Beta took off to the skies and Epsilon turned and ran through the empty streets.

"Left," Beta said inside his head. He quickly took a sharp left and ran down an dark alleyway towards the light at the end.

"Right," She said and Epsilon burst out of the alley, barely avoiding a lady and a stroller, and ran right. That's when he saw him. He was wearing a black ski mask and dark black turtleneck. In his right hand was a 9mm pistol.

"I take it that's the bank robber?" Epsilon thought to Beta.

"No, it was the woman with the stroller," Beta replied sarcastically. Epsilon ignored it and kept running. He was the fastest Titan so he was able to catch up to the man in no time. He ran past him and stood several yards in front of him. He became visible again and just stood there, blocking off the mans path. The robber's eyes widened with shock but he kept on running anyway. A few yards away he dove forward and front hand sprigged over Epsilon. Epsilon looked up and saw him fly over him and land on the sidewalk behind him, rolling to his feet. He raised the gun and shot at Epsilon as he turned the corner. The bullet stopped several feet before reaching him.

"Thanks," he said to Beta. "We're even now." He said as he ran down the street, following the man. He ran following the robber. He saw him turn a street corner and head up a hill with Epsilon in hot pursuit. Epsilon got with in several feet of him before the robber ran up a wall and jumped to an opposite wall, grabbing the stop and pulling himself over. Epsilon, the most acrobatic of the Titans, would have followed, except the wall was over ten stories high. Epsilon looked up, trying to see where he went. Beta landed next to him, becoming visible.

"I couldn't catch him," she said trying to catch her breath. "He's too fast."

"Who was that guy?" Epsilon asked more to himself then Beta. She shrugged her shoulders anyway. "Come on, lets get back to the house." He said and started walking to their home. Little did they know that a woman with a tattoo of a red heart stared at them from above, watching their every move.

Hey guys, so the Titans are back. Yeay! I might be slow with posting but hopefully not. Sorry about that, i just ask if you could be patient with my postings.
