Chapter Iota

Omega stared, dumbfounded, at the face before him. He never thought he would see it again. The last time he did, he was being dragged away while medical personal were crowding around her. She looked somewhat different though. Face harder, more full of rage rather than the Theta he knew before. She had received way more training in the past two years than he remembered. She was different now, Omega couldn't underestimate her.

She swiftly and with lightning speed, swung her leg out, tripping Omega while he was unawares. She quickly got up and looked down at him.

"Never let your guard down," She said with a cold smile. "You taught me that."

Right then, Beta and Epsilon ran back from behind the stage. There was a terrible crash from the far wall. They all turned and looked. They noticed the large man was breaking through the wall, tearing his way back in. They both got ready for a rematch, both knowing it wouldn't be an easy fight. The man stood up slowly, not a scratch was on him. He broke off a large piece of the wall and it crumbled in his fist.

At that moment, Alpha started to regain consciousness. Unfortunately, so did the man with the mask and handgun. They all looked at each other, the Titans and masked started regrouping with their teams.

"Alpha," Epsilon said looking over at him. He nodded and clapped his hands together. As he pulled them apart, he converted the air around him into a long staff made of a non-reflective graphite. He threw it over to Epsilon who quickly caught it, spinning it around behind his back before it slowly faded and disappeared from their gaze.

"Well, you guys have turned out to be very formidable opponents." The first man started. "Perhaps introductions are in order." He said pulling off his mask to reveal a black diamond covering his right eye. The diamond tip started where his eyebrow started and the ended about where his earlobe was. "You can call me Diamond."

"Club," the large man said in his deep voice, pulling off his mask to reveal a dark poker club over his eye. He was a man of few words. He believed actions spoke louder than words and liked to show it.

"Ah, and I see you've already meet Heart," Diamond said in his smooth voice, gesturing to Theta. She nodded.

"Matthew?" Gamma suddenly said. Everyone turned and to look at her, confused. Diamond cocked his head to the side and then snapped his fingers.

"Brooke." He said, less of a question and more of a statement to himself. "What a funny coincidence.

"I guess this means you won't be calling me," Gamma said. He gave her a small smile, his tattoo moving up his eye as he did so.

"No need for introductions on your part," Diamond said ignoring Gamma. "We know exactly who you are. Especially you, Spade." He finished gesturing to Omega. Everyone else turned and looked over at Omega. He sighed and shook his head.

"What?" Heart started. "You're going to pretend you don't remember us? Your teammates?" Omega didn't respond. He just stood there in silence.

"You are just going to betray your team like that?" Diamond asked.

"Shame, shame," Club pitched in. Omega's eyes filled with rage.

"I was never your teammate. I was never Spade and never will be," he finally said rage in his voice.

"Temper, temper," Club responded, shaking his head.

"You will be Spade sooner or later. Its who you are," Diamond said. "You'll be one of us."

"I would never want to be like you," Omega replied, turning and walking away. Diamond's eyebrows raised in anger and he raised his gun.

"No!" Heart yelled but it was too late. The loud shot echoed though out the small theater and a bullet sailed towards Omega. He didn't even move, didn't even blink. A split second later, the bullet stopped several inches in front of Omega, dead in his tracks.

He turned and looked up to see Beta holding her hand out in front of her, in Omega's direction. She lowered her arm and the bullet dropped to the ground. Diamond turned and faced Heart with rage in his expression.

"Don't you ever tell me what to do again," he snapped harshly at Heart. She glared back at him, sending the message that she didn't care what he thought.

"You can't talk to her like that," Omega said turning back. He balled a fist and ran at Diamond with speed only rivaling Epsilon's or Heart's. Diamond quickly jumped over him, landing in a crouch behind him, standing quickly, and swinging a leg around at Omega.

Omega quickly pulled his head back, dodging the kick and grabbing Diamond's foot. He held it for a moment then swung it around, then letting it go, sending him spiraling across the room.

Club caught him before Diamond collided with him. He held him back before he would overreact again and take another run at Omega.

"This isn't over," Diamond said, pointing especially at Omega. "Lets go," he said turning and walking out, Club following. He reached the door and turned back.

"Heart!" he said harshly, seeing her standing there, her back to his. "I said let's go." She didn't turn back. She just stood there, unmoving. Diamond cursed under his breath. He turned back and walked out the door with out a second glance. Club looked hesitant but soon he too followed Diamond. Heart turned to Omega.

"No one has ever stood up to Diamond like that," she said quietly. "Especially not for me. Thank you." Omega nodded, acknowledging the apology. He turned around and started walking back to the rest of his team.

"Wait." Heart called out, he stopped and turned his head over his shoulder to look at her. "Come with me, please."
