Part of me doesn't like this chapter. It felt rushed. Please post suggestions to make it / the story / anything else better if you have them. I'd love to hear them.

Enjoy.

Chapter Rho

Marco Stills sat behind his large desk, straightening his plague that read 'Director' with pride. He started to hum a short tune to himself as he places his feet on his desk and slowly sipped his coffee. It wasn't the best he had ever had but it was the best he could get and didn't have much left. But he felt he deserved a victory cup. Appending the Titans was no small accomplishment.

Still humming, he decided to check out the security cameras and see how his new occupants were doing. He pressed a few buttons on his computer and the screen flashed to a black and white real time hidden camera.

It showed the four Titans and his son lying on the floor. The one called Epsilon slowly started to get up before the rest of them started stirring. He smiled in satisfaction as he noticed they all noticed they were still chained to the wall.

But his happiness didn't last long as he noticed his son pull a set of keys from his pocket. Marco swore loudly and took his feet off the desk and sat closer to the screen. He saw his son unlock the chains and open the door.

Marco started typing several commands on his keyboard and the camera turned off and changed to another video of a long hallway. He saw five figures sprint down the hall and disappear. Marco pressed another button and the camera changed to another large room. He noticed another larger figure standing on the other side of the room.

"Who the," Marco said clicking on the face and the computer automatically adjusted to zoom in on the figure. He stared at the face for a minute before the recognition set in.

"Phoenix?" he said confused and continued watching. He saw his son say something to them and then run past them. A second later he saw Miles being lifted up into the air and then fall on the ground, dead.

Marco pressed a small button on a speaker on his desk and turned a dial, raising the volume. He only heard a few words of the conversation. His eyes grew wide and he typed several rapid commands on his computer. He finished by typing lengthy password and then pressed enter forcefully on his computer.

Marco then drained the last of his coffee and ran out the door. His computer screen displayed a small timer counting down. Above it the words 'Self Destruct' were flashing rapidly.

Alpha's eyes grew wide. Beta gasped. Gamma raised an eyebrow in confusion. Epsilon stood there with his blade extended, arms raised in a fighting stance. Jeff and Carl just stood there with the same grin on their face. Looking at it was almost eerie, the way the two sets of lips seemed to drift together to form an unbroken ring around their head.

"Quick question," Gamma said, raising her hand. "Why?"

"Ha!" Jeff laughed.

"You guys of all people," Carl continued.

"Should understand." Jeff added.

"How it felt when the humans."

"Created you."

"The pain."

"Sorrow."

"Misery."

"For what?" They both asked at the same time.

"So we can be their weapons," Jeff added.

"And cause more pain, sorrow and misery?" Carl finished.
