Chapter Θ (Theta)

"Now what?" Alpha said to Epsilon. It was more of an accusation then a question. This is why Alpha was against the idea of leaving. He knew that they had left the only home they knew that provided them with food and shelter and entered a strange world where they had absolutely nothing. Secretly, however, Alpha has always wondered what the outside world was like. He had no idea it was this big. They had been trapped in that cell for so long it they had all forgotten what the world looked like. They all stood there for a minute, wide eyed, staring off in to the distance. They were standing on the summit of a mountain. They could see for miles, in every direction. There were paths and trails leading down the mountain and they all looked really steep. They all stood there, listening to the wind blowing in the dense thick trees, just staring off into the distance. It was the most incredible thing they've seen in a long time.

"Well," Gamma said breaking the silence. "Standing around here won't do us any good, lets get a move on."

"Yes, I agree," Beta said. "But what exactly is "here?" I mean we have no idea where to start heading."

"That way," Epsilon said, pointing off into the distance. Before anyone could say anything else, he started walking that way. Everyone else ran to catch up.

"How do you know where we are going?" Beta said, coming up next to him.

"I don't," Epsilon said with a grin. "No one else was throwing out suggestions, so I decided to take the initiative." She grinned back and then looked down at the trail so she could see where she was stepping. Epsilon, realizing he had been staring at her, looked at the trail right in front of him. He was too late and a branch hit him right in the face.

"Wow, you just fought your way past at least 30 people back there with your bare fists and yet you almost got taken out my a tree, that wasn't even moving." Alpha said, giggling a bit. His laughter was quickly brought to an end when the same branch snapped back off Epsilon's face and hit him in the face.

"I'm sorry, what?" Epsilon said. "I couldn't hear you, there was a branch in my face"

"Forget it," he replied. They walked down the trail for what seemed like forever. They passed tree after tree after tree and had no idea where they were going. Finally the trees cleared out and they saw a small town up ahead. They headed down with more determination now that they knew there was light at the end of the tunnel. It didn't take them long to get to the base and into the town. They walked up and realized they would stick out like a sore thumb in this crowd, everyone was wearing completely different clothes then their dark jumpsuits. They quickly and stealthy snuck over a fence and into a backyard. They grabbed clothes that were hanging to dry. They all ditched there jumpsuits and switched them out for there newly acquired outfits. They were alot different from what they were use to. They were use to one piece jumpsuits but this was like the jumpsuit was cut in half in the middle and it was a two piece jumpsuit.

"Well, this isn't what I'm use to, but it'll do" Gamma said.

"This totally clashes with my shoes," Beta said and she and Gamma both laughed. Alpha and Epsilon shook their heads.

"We're trying to get as far away from here as we can, not win a beauty contest," Alpha said. "Now lets get out of here. Everyone try to blend in." They slowly walked into a crowd of people traveling down a small road. They kept looking over their shoulder for anyone following them but they didn't see anyone. They kept walking for a few minutes down a narrow road leading out of the woods into a clearer plain. There alert levels when up to an all time high, anyone could be hiding out there and they had to keep their eyes peeled. They walked a few miles until they saw another town off in the distance. By the time they got there, the sun had gone down behind the horizon and they needed to find a place to sleep. They found a hotel went in and asked for a room.

"That will be 50 dollars per night," the man behind the counter said. He noticed the puzzled looks on their faces and quickly added, "You do have money, don't you?" They all exchanged quick glances.

"Uh, yeah. Sorry I seemed to have left it outside with my other things." Epsilon said quickly. "We'll be right back." He said as they all hurried out of the hotel.

"What do we do now, we don't have any money," Beta said.

"We could beg for it," Gamma suggested.

"Forget that, I'm not begging for anything. I've got a better idea." Alpha said, and be bent down and picked up some leaves. He focused on them for a few seconds, then there was a bright flash of light and the leaves had changed into dollar bills. "This should do it."

"Nice," Epsilon said, and they all walked back into the hotel and got their room. It was a small room with one window, one bed and a wooden chair sitting in the corner of the room. There was wallpaper peeling everywhere and it looked like it hadn't been swept in a few good years. The second they walked in the room, Gamma quickly collapsed on the bed.

"Call it," she said. The rest of them rolled their eyes.

"Girls sleep, we'll stand guard and make sure no one followed us." Epsilon said.

"What?" Alpha said. Epsilon threw him a look and he gave in. "Fine" He took the chair and moved it by the door and sat there while Epsilon stood by the window.

"Do you think anyone followed us?" Beta asked.

"I hope not, but its better to be safe then sorry." Epsilon said. "Get some sleep, we'll wake you when we need to go." Beta nodded and settled down in the bed. Gamma was already in a deep sleep, snoring loud enough to wake the dead. Epsilon went invisible and Beta was out like a light and Epsilon and Alpha fought to stay awake while standing guard. Little did they know they were being watched. About a mile away, the man with the dark trench coat appeared out of nowhere. He had appeared behind a tree and by some bushes, completely hidden from all sides.

"Perfect," he thought to himself. He had been trained to see but not been seen for many years and now it's paying off. He pulled out a pair of binoculars and looked through them. He focused them through the window of the hotel where they would be staying. He saw a person sitting in a chair, watching the door. "Pathetic," he thought. This team was really bad at hiding and trying to go unnoticed. No one has ever been able to hide from him. He looked through the window again and saw two more people asleep on the bed and another in a chair. He was told that this was a team of four not three. He focused on the floor by the window and saw a shadow from the moon in the middle of the floor where even though there was no one standing there. There was someone invisible there, not even he could escape his eye. He took out a communication device and pressed a small button on it.

"What?" Came a voice that belonged to the man with the eyepatch.

"I have located the team."

"That was quick, even for you," the communicator said, the voice breaking up because the trees were so dense where the man was hiding. "Alright, bring them in. But they must not be harmed. Also they must not be underestmated. There are best team, thats why they need to be brought back. Be careful."

"Yeah, I got this," he said snapping off the radio. "This will be a piece of cake. They won't see it coming."
