Peonies.
Stacy always liked peonies.
The flowers where carefully arranged around the beautiful coffin.
A beautiful coffin, for a beautiful girl
Graser had thought.
Stacy's parents where there, and so where her cousins, nephews, friends, and any part of her family.
Her mother was crying, shaking while her dad patted her on the back, fighting off his own tears.
Graser didn't dare approach the coffin, he felt like a little push like that would finally break him down.
Bee was towering over Stacy's open coffin, her lips moving slightly, but he couldn't catch what she was saying.
He looked over at Dul, who was leaning into Parker, who's jaw was tightly clenched. His eyes where glassy.
Graser scouted out Dfield, Hbomb, Corrine, Will, Grape, Straub, Meghan, Joey, Tiffany, Mario, Cat, even Dr. Nine who had Page and Peony pulling on their leashes and Dr. Kori who had Milquetoast in her arms. He knew there were others, but didn't bother to look for them.
Stacy's dad whispered something to Dr. Nine and Dr. Kori, and they nodded.
Graser watched as Dr. Nine let Page and Polly go, and the ran at full speed over to the coffin. Dr. Kori set Milque down, who followed the dogs. The room was all of a sudden too quiet.
Page began barking, loudly, jumping up, trying to get a better look at the coffin. Peony began whimpering lightly, and Page joined her. Milque just stared at the coffin, still. His tail was still as well. His ears were flat against his head.
Soon, the loud noises stopped, as Page and Peony settled onto the floor by the coffin, little tears on the corners of their eyes. Milque was even allowed to jump onto the coffin, standing on the glass separating Stacy from the outside. Dr. Kori went to take him off.
Someone spoke up.
"A moment of silence for our lost sister, Stacy Hinajosa"
Graser clenched his jaw, and swallowed thickly. His breathing changed. He couldn't do it. He could not do it.
He turned on his heel, heading for the back door.
"Graser-" His mom called out for him, but he kept walking.
Tears finally where let out, in quiet, little, muffled sobs.
He sat down on the curve, head in hands, shaking. Tears fell onto the pavement below, and stuttering breaths showed up in the cold, crisp, Canadian air.
"Graser" He hesitated, but turned around. His eyes met those of the one and only, Hbomb.
"I'm so sorry" Liam's voice cracked, as he sat down next to the broken boy.
"For what? It's not like you killed her" Graser snapped back, gritting his teeth.
The blue eyed boy sighed, closing his eyes. He took in the cold atmosphere. He almost expected it to start raining. Maybe even snowing.
Graser's fists unclenched, and his body went slightly limp. "I'm going to miss her so much" Graser leaned into Liam's touch. He took him in automatically.
"I know you will. You'll miss her more than most of us" H's soft words fluttered. "Maybe, even more than any of us"
"I just want to see her again. I just want to hold her, kiss her, talk to her, or at least look her in the eye one last time" The words shook, threatning to fall apart.
