Ayano Aishi x Nemesis-chan:

The mission was simple, find Midori Gurinu and eliminate her with a knifu. Make sure there are no witnesses. Clean the blood and dispose of both the body and weapon in the incinerator. Easy for Ayano. She walked towards the roof with the knife in her hand, hidden from other students views. That's when she saw her. She had messy black hair, red eyes and black gloves. She was also holding a knife. The corridor was void of any other student. They remained frozen, refusing to break eye contact.
"Assassin too, huh?" Ayano asked, pointing at the knife in the other girls hand.
"Yeah. What's your name?" She asked bluntly, still looking at Ayano.
"Ayano. What's yours?"
"Just call me Nemesis. You're actually cute, Ayano." Ayano felt herself blushing, and desperately tried to conceal it. Nemesis just laughed.
"I have to go. I have a mission to complete." Ayano headed towards the stairs, when she was stopped by Nemesis' voice.
"Same. If you want, we could meet up afterwards maybe, kinda like a date." Ayano turned back to face the girl and smiled.
"Sure."

That's how it went from then. They would complete their missions, then meet up for dates. They eventually became a couple, but hid it from everyone. They were supposed to be sworn enemies, working for bosses who hated each other. Ayano worked for Info-chan, Nemesis refused to reveal anything about hers. They didn't mind keeping their relationship a secret, as it only made it more interesting.

They were both given orders to assassinate each other if they were seen by the other. They spoke to each other before missions, so they could avoid each other. Neither of them wanted to kill the other. That was until one assignment.

Nemesis looked at her mission brief and felt a sadness she had forgotten she could feel.

This was exactly what Nemesis didn't want. She didn't want to kill Ayano, but what choice did she have? She needed the money she earned from each mission to survive.

Nemesis' parents were both very poor, her parents worked 2 jobs each, and she rarely saw them. They had borrowed money from a company called Ronshaku loans, and had to pay that back. They turned out to be loan sharks, taking every penny from her parents then demanding more. That was why she became an assassin. It was either that, or engaging in compensated dating. She couldn't refuse this job. It was either her parents, or her girlfriend.

Nemesis stood in an empty corridor waiting for Ayano to pass by. She felt nervous. She hadn't been nervous since her first kill years ago, but that was different. She never usually had emotional attachment to her victims. She watched Ayano pass, making sure she couldn't be seen. She followed her until she was alone. Her hands trembled as she raised the knife. She closed her eyes and she slammed the knife into Ayano's head, killing her instantly. Nemesis caught the body and felt a tear running down her face for the first time. She kissed Ayano's forehead and whispered 3 words.
"I'm sorry, Aishi."
