79: Born To Be Friends

Last suggestion by Shade6 . In this one shot, Muja and Mida are teens like the rest of the rivals. Muja is very clumsy and naive, and wants to be a nurse when she leaves school. Mida wants to be a teacher, and acts like a teacher's pet around the adults, however she is very slutty around boys she likes. Also, Taro and Ayano are together after all the rivals were eliminated using the friendship elimination method.

Rivals & Ayano Aishi:

"Got any plans next Saturday, babe?" Taro asked. Ayano was sat next to him with her arms wrapped around him. They had become a couple a few weeks ago, after Ayano had befriended her rivals and asked them to leave him alone.
"No. What's happening Saturday?" She asked.
"It's your birthday, Ayano." He sighed. She forgot her birthday, as she didn't usually celebrate it. She never cared for parties, and never had friends to invite until now.
"Oh." She shrugged her shoulders. She didn't really care. "I'm not celebrating it this year, as my parents won't be home." She said, casually. He put his arms around her, internally sighing.
"I'm taking you out for dinner Saturday, then." He told her. She shrugged her shoulders and made a small sigh. He lifted her chin with his hand so she was looking at him, before passionately kissing the dark haired girl.

Hanako had heard every word of Ayano and Taro's conversation. She desperately wanted to throw a party for her brother's new girlfriend, but she knew she wouldn't be able to do it alone. She disappeared into her room before Ayano or Taro noticed her to make plans.

"Why did you ask us all here, Hanako?" Megami asked, rolling her eyes. She and Hanako, as well as the rest of the rivals, were sat in an empty classroom at lunch.
"I need your help planning a birthday party for Ayano." Hanako stated, standing on a chair so she could be seen by the other 10 girls. "Her parents won't be home for her birthday, so I want to throw her the best party ever!" She cheered. The others looked at each other in confusion.
"That sounds fun." Kokona smiled. The others murmured, mostly in agreement with Kokona.
"Yay!" Hanako cheered. Megami had been sat in silence, listening to the others. She was forming a plan in her mind to help Hanako.
"Here's what we're doing." She interrupted the other student's conversations. The girls turned to look at her as she stood on a chair. "I'll get the venue. Osana and Kizana will sort out invitations. Amai and Kokona will make the food, including the birthday cake, Hanako and Taro will keep Ayano distracted so she doesn't know about the plans, and everyone else will decorate the venue." The other girls started to murmur to each other again. She stepped down from her chair and was hugged by Hanako.
"Thanks Megami." She said happily.

"Where are we eating dinner tonight?" Ayano asked emotionlessly, holding on to Taro's hand. She was wearing the black dress Taro had brought for her birthday, as well as the necklace and shoes. He'd brought it with help from the rivals. It looked suitable for both going out for dinner and to a party.
"There's been a slight change of plan." He smirked. He was well aware of Hanako's party, and helped her distract Ayano.
"What do you mean?" She asked, concerned and annoyed. All she wanted to do was spend time with her boyfriend. He pushed open the door of the venue, revealing a dark room. Megami had hired a large nightclub for the party.
"Happy Birthday Ayano!" The guests shouted, as they came out from their hiding places and the lights came on. She screamed a little in surprise, making Taro and the guests laugh.
"Do you like the party, Ayano?" Hanako ran over to her and hugged her. Ayano laughed a little as she hugged the smaller girl back. "We put loads of time into this."
"Thank you, guys." Ayano laughed. This wasn't the night she'd planned, but genuinely appreciated the effort her friends made.

That evening, all the girls had fun at the party. Osana and Hanako spent most of their time together, making sure everyone else was having fun. Amai stood near the buffet, occasionally eating the food. Kizana danced with her cousin Kokona, and Megami. Oka tried to socialise, but spent her time awkwardly clinging to either Ayano or Shin. Asu kept challenging Budo and Osoro to dance battles, entertaining everyone. Muja kept tripping over everything as she tried to dance and all Mida did was flirt with all the single boys.

Taro dragged Ayano on to the dance floor as a slow song started to play, leading her in a slow dance.
"Good party, right?" He smirked, kissing her lips.
"Yeah. I really do have some great friends." She smiled once they stopped kissing. He laughed, and they both kissed again.
