Haruto Yuto x Mina Rai:

Haruto sat alone by the fountain, watching the water. The courtyard was empty, and he was completely alone. He sighed, listening to the gentle splashing of the water. That was when he remembered her again. A tear ran down his face as he remembered when he first confessed his feelings to her.

Flashback 1:

Haruto waited patiently for his crush to meet him. It was Friday, and he was under the cherry blossom tree from the legend. He paced a little, starting to fear the worst. That was before he heard a voice shouting in his direction.
"Sorry I'm late." He recognised that voice as his crush's. Mina Rai. One of the strongest girls at Akademi.
"I-its fine." He stuttered nervously. She laughed a little, making him laugh uncomfortably.
"What did you want to say?" She asked, smiling casually at him.
"I... umm... erh..." He continued stuttering. He didn't know what to say to her. She found his stuttering annoying, so she cut him off after a minute.
"I love you." She confessed smiling. Seconds later, they were kissing each other on the lips. He didn't hesitate to kiss her back.

End of Flashback 1:

Haruto dabbled his fingers in the fountain, feeling the cold water running through his fingers. He sighed deeply, wishing that she was here right now. He wanted to see her again, even if it was impossible. That day played in his mind again. He wished he could go back and change the past.

Flashback 2:

Mina was in her club like usual. She was in the martial arts club, and was the strongest member aside from Budo. She started sparring against Sho when someone burst into the room. That person was Ayano, and she was wielding a knife. She suddenly stabbed Budo with the knife, killing him instantly. He didn't have time to react. Mina sprinted to her and tried to fight the weapon off of her. That was her first instinct.

It was at that moment Haruto walked by the club. He saw Mina and Ayano fighting. He panicked, and chose to get a teacher. She'd probably know what to do better than he did. He sprinted away to find a teacher. He probably could've joined the fight, maybe helped Mina, but he didn't. He ran like a coward. Seconds after Haruto was out of earshot, Ayano won. She stabbed Mina, killing her instantly. She quickly took down the rest of the club members before running away. She didn't want to get caught.

Haruto ran back to the martial arts club, closely followed by a teacher. What he saw haunted him. The love of his life was dead on the floor. He fell to his knees beside her while the teacher called the police. He knew he could've done something. He felt like a total coward. He should've fought back, helped Mina win. Instead, he let her die.

End of Flashback 2:

He sighed. He could've prevented Mina's death, but walked away when she needed him most. He felt awful. He closed his eyes as his fingers danced idly in the fountain. He ignored the world around him, lost in self thought. He didn't notice someone sneaking up behind him.
"Coward." Ayano's voice whispered into his ear as she placed a knife to his neck from behind. "I can't allow witnesses to live." She added, stabbing him in the throat. He died almost instantly. He fell backwards as Ayano started heading away. His blood ran down his neck, and started mixing with the water. Ayano smirked as she left the body to clean herself. By the time his corpse was found, the fountain had turned crimson.
