Koharu stood awkwardly at the front of the teacher, feeling the eyes of the other students on her. Being the new student wasn't easy.
"Class, this is Koharu Hinata. She's new here, so please be nice." The teacher introduced her. She looked around at the faces of her new classmates, suddenly overwhelmed with shyness. "Why don't you sit with Yuna?" The teacher suggested, pointing at the empty seat next to a girl with bright blonde, almost yellowish, hair. Koharu nodded and awkwardly shuffled to her new seat. The teacher began the lesson, and Koharu paid attention until she felt someone tap her shoulder. She looked over, seeing Yuna looking at her.
"Hey, Koharu." She said quietly and cheerfully. The green haired girl smiled softly at her. "Do you want to spend lunch with us?" Yuna asked. Koharu nodded her head a little as they both turned their attention back to the lesson.

At lunch, Yuna excitedly lead her towards a piece of playground equipment. They could see 4 other girls playing on it. Koharu assumed they were Yuna's friends.
"Hi!" Yuna shouted to them as she grabbed Koharu's hand and pulled her towards them. "This is Koharu, she's new." Yuna introduced her to the other girls. "This is Saki, Kokona, Yui and Mei." Yuna introduced her to her other friends. The other girls accepted her into their friendship group almost immediately.

Present Day:

"Yuna!" Koharu shouted as she ran over to her best friend and hugged her from behind. The group of girls had been best friends since they met in elementary school, and had all attended the same middle and high schools. Koharu, however, had developed slightly different feelings towards Yuna. Love. She had fallen in love, and feared she would be rejected by the friend she assumed was straight.
"Hey Koharu. Can you do something for me, please?" Yuna asked as she turned around to hug Koharu back. The green haired girl nodded her head as they ended the hug. "Meet me at the east fountain at lunch."
"Why?" Koharu asked, a little confused. Yuna smiled a little at her and winked a little flirtatiously at her, but she didn't notice.
"You'll just have to wait and see."

At lunch, Yuna reached the east fountain first. She waited for a moment before walking to the rose bush nearby. She gathered a small bouquet of roses before continuing to wait at the fountain. She began to fear Koharu wasn't going to show up until the green haired girl ran over to her.
"Sorry I'm late, the teacher kept me back because I fell a little behind." Koharu explained as she sat down on a bench beside Yuna.
"These are for you." Yuna told her, giving her best friend the bouquet of roses. Koharu was in shock when she hesitantly took the flowers. "The reason I wanted to meet you here is because I have to tell you something. I'm in love with you." Yuna confessed, much to the surprise of Koharu. She never expected Yuna to feel the same way. "I hope you don't re-" she was cut off by Koharu kissing her. She kissed back for a moment until she pulled away.
"I love you too." Koharu admitted. They smiled at each other as they embraced each other.
