Ayano Aishi x Hanako Yamada:

"No you can't confess your love to Taro!" Hanako whined to Ayano. Ayano had asked Hanako if she could confess her love to her brother, knowing how overprotective she was. They had become friends, and Hanako had developed feelings for her.
"Why not?" Ayano asked, confused by Hanako's sudden outburst. Hanako didn't want to lose Ayano to her brother.
"Because you can't!" She shouted. Everyone turned to look at them, but Hanako didn't care. She ran away from Ayano before she started to cry. Ayano watched her leave, very confused.

"Are you ok, Hanako?" Taro asked as he entered his little sister's room later that evening. She shook her head, sobbing into the pillow. "What's wrong?" He asked sitting at the edge of her bed.
"Ayano wants to confess to someone else." Hanako sobbed loudly, muffled by the pillow her face was buried into. Taro sighed and put his hand through her hair comfortingly.
"Do you know who she plans to confess to?" He asked. She nodded her head, not looking up. "Who?" Hanako shook her head into the pillow. She didn't want to tell Taro that she planned to confess to him.
"You need to confess to her tomorrow if you don't want to lose her." Taro suggested. Hanako looked up at him, nodding her head a little hesitantly.
"Why do I say to her?" Hanako asked, drying her eyes with the back of her hand.
"I'll help you if you want." Taro offered. Hanako nodded her head again, sitting up more.

That lunch, Taro was stood on top of the hill beside the mythical tree, waiting for Ayano, but he didn't know this. He had received a note from Ayano asking him to meet her there, only Ayano had left it anonymous. He didn't know his sister's crush was about to confess.
"Taro." He turned around after hearing a female voice behind him, and was surprised to see Ayano. "I need to confess something to you." She told him.
"What do you want to say?" Taro asked, waiting patiently for Ayano to make her love confession. It was Friday, so the myth stated that Taro was guaranteed to accept her confession.
"I'm in love with you, Taro." Ayano admitted, her cheeks turning pink. Taro was surprised by Ayano's confession. He knew Hanako liked her, but had no idea she liked him. Part of him wanted to accept her love confession, but he could never take her away from Hanako, who was watching them. She felt her heart break in 2 when she saw her crush confess to her brother. She scrunched up the letter in her hand and ran away before she could hear what Taro had to say.
"Ayano, I'm sorry." He sighed. She looked at him, confused and a little scared he would reject her. "I can't be with you. I'm so sorry." He apologised before walking away and leaving her broken hearted. He could never take her away from Hanako.

Hanako went to Ayano's locker before the end of lunch, heartbroken. In her hand was a letter. It wasn't the one Taro had helped her write the night before, instead it was one she'd just written. She slipped it into Ayano's locker before walking away.

After school that day, Ayano went to her locker to clear it out. She had no reason to live now her Senpai had rejected her love confession. She opened the locker, and Hanako's note fell out. She picked it up and read it silently to herself.
Ayano.
I know you confessed to Taro, and I want you to know I hope your happy. I want to tell you I love you. I was going to confess to you today, but I saw you confess to my big brother. I hope you're happy, and this doesn't ruin our relationship.

Ayano sighed and put the note down. Maybe that was why Taro rejected her. She sighed a little, deciding to go find Hanako.

Hanako sat on the school roof sadly. She felt tears running down her cheeks, but she didn't seem to care. She sobbed quietly to herself until she felt someone rubbing her back. She looked up and saw Ayano sat on the bench beside her.
"A-Ayano? What are you doing here?" She asked sadly, before looking down at her hands. "Shouldn't you be with my big brother?"
"He rejected me." Ayano said, masking the bitterness in her voice. Hanako looked at her confused. She removed the scrunched up note from her bag and presented it to Ayano.
"H-here." She said as Ayano took it. She opened the note and read it to herself.
Ayano.
I really don't know how to say this, but I love you. I love you Ayano. I don't remember when I realised I felt this way, but I hope you feel the same and don't reject my confession.
Hanako.
Ayano didn't say anything as she kissed Hanako on the cheek. The smaller girl looked up at her, her cheeks bright red. She threw her arms around Ayano happily. Ayano sighed, also putting her arms around Hanako. If she couldn't have Senpai, then at least she could have his sister.
