54: That Girl

Juku Ren x Nemesis-chan:

Nemesis stood at the doorway of the martial arts club, watching them train. She always enjoyed watching the martial artists, especially Juku. He was the weakest, and it always amused her to see him lose.

One day, after a particularly rough practise, Nemesis walked past the club room and saw Juku laying on the floor. He had pain in his eyes, but refused to show it in his face. He looked over to the door and saw Nemesis staring at him with her visible red eye. He instantly blushed, a little embarrassed that he was so weak.
"Hey." He smirked, trying to sit up. Pain shot through his back, making him gasp. She rolled her eyes and laughed a little.
"Hello." She said a little emotionlessly. She awkwardly sat down next to him as he finally sat up.
"What brings you here gorgeous?" He flirted awkwardly. He had seen her a few times, and always thought she was cute. Now she was talking to him. She blushed a little, but turned her face away from him so he couldn't see it.
"Nothing." She said, trying to not show emotion. She strongly believed her emotions would be her weakness.
"Ah." He was a tiny bit disappointed. He hoped she would say she was there to see him. Even though she was, she didn't want to admit it. They sat in uncomfortable silence for a moment before Nemesis stood up.
"Maybe I'll see you later." She said, leaving him on his own on the floor of the martial arts club room.

The next day, Juku was alone in the club room with self-proclaimed ladies man Budo. He sighed, laying down on his back and looking blankly at the ceiling.
"You ok, Juku? You seem distracted." Budo noted out loud. Juku looked over at him and nodded.
"Yeah. Just girl problems." He admitted, sighing.
"Girl problems, huh? Let me help." He smirked proudly. Juku sighed and rolled his eyes. He wasn't confident that Budo would help, but it was worth a try. After all, what's the worst that can happen? "So, who is the lucky lady?" He asked, lightly shoving his shoulder.
"I don't know her name, but she sometimes watches us train." He said, casually shrugging his shoulders. Budo looked at him, a little confused.
"Someone watches us?" He asked, the confusion evident.
"Don't you see her?" He asked, just as confused. Budo shook his head, and Juku sighed. "Never mind. What do you suggest."

A few days later, he saw her watching the club again. Specifically him. He excused himself for a moment, then headed towards her to see if Budo's advice worked.
"Hey babe." He smirked, closing the door behind him. Nemesis raised her eyebrow at him, confused by his sudden change of attitude. She didn't care for it. "Whatcha doin' round here?" She rolled her eyes.
"What?" She didn't like this version of Juku. He seemed like an ass. Juku smirked and put his arm on her shoulder.
"Betcha you were looking for me?" She smirked playfully, much to Nemesis' annoyance. "You know, you look a lot like my next girlfriend." He tried one of the pickup lines Budo had suggested to him, hoping it would work. Nemesis instead removed his arm from around her and narrowed her eyes at him.
"I'm leaving." She turned around and started to walk away. Juku gasped, realising his mistake. He grabbed her hand, making her look back at him.
"Look, I'm sorry. I took some bad advice from a friend. Please give me a chance." He immediately dropped the act. She smiled at him a little.
"Fine. Done ever be a fuckboy again, and I'll consider a date with you." He let go of her hand and smiled. He was about to say something when the door opened. He immediately turned in that direction and saw Budo standing by the door.
"What's taking you so long, Juku?" He asked.
"I was just talking to..." He started, but stopped when he realised Nemesis was no longer with him. He looked back at Budo, who had his eyebrow raised in his direction. "Never mind." He sighed as they both headed back into the club. He didn't care that Budo probably thought Nemesis didn't exist, he was too excited about the possibility of a date with her.
