38: Driven To Insanity

Deranged! Budo Masuta x Nemesis-chan:

Budo sat on the floor of the martial arts club room, laughing maniacally to himself. His legs were crossed, with his knees up to his chest and his arms around them. His body rocked back and forth. He had become completely fuelled by insanity. All around him, students were dying, but there was nothing he could do about it. That's what drove him insane. He hated being unable to do anything. His laughter was interrupted by someone at the door.
"Masuta-kun." Was all the girl at the door said. She had short, dark hair that covered one of her deep red eyes. Budo still had a wide smile plastered on his face, but no emotion behind it. "I understand you're not in the best mental health right now, so allow me to help." She sat down near him. She didn't sit close incase his insanity got the best of him and he lashed out.
"How could you help?" He asked emotionlessly. He hadn't seen Nemesis enter the room, and just assumed she was another voice in his head.
"I can win against the person driving you crazy." She said, coldly. She couldn't tell if he was paying her any attention. "Would you mind looking at me?" His head turned slowly in her direction until he saw the girl sat beside him. His eyes widened, she was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen even if he thought she didn't actually exist.
"Yes." He said monotonously. She raised her eyebrow at him as he reached one twitchy hand out to her. He retracted nearly immediately as it made contact with her. "Y-you're real?" He asked, a little scared and confused. She nodded her head slowly at him, his comment confusing her.
"Yes, I'm real. I'm here to help you, Masuta-kun." She said as she stood up. She smiled politely at him and walked away. He sat silently, listening to the sound of his heart beating. He was in love with a girl he'd just met, he didn't even know her name.

Budo walked around the school a few days later. His body was twitching slightly from the lack of sanity in Budo. He continued walking until he heard the sound of 2 people fighting. He followed his instinct and ran to where the sounds were coming from. He saw the girl from the other day fighting with another girl who's dark hair was in a ponytail. He watched almost helplessly as Nemesis was stabbed in the side by Ayano's knife. Insanity took control of his body as he sprinted towards Ayano. She let out a surprised yelp as she was tackled to the ground by Budo. He fought the knife out of her hand and took it into his own. He straddled her so she couldn't escape. Laughing maniacally, he brought down the knife on her body repeatedly. Even though he was laughing, he was dead inside.
"Y-you're... deranged... Masuta-kun..." Ayano spat as she took her final breaths. After stabbing her a few more times, he felt his sanity increase slightly. Murder usually causes sanity to decrease, but for Budo it made him more sane. He had finally gotten the thing that was causing his insanity out of his life.
"M-Masuta-kun?" Nemesis coughed as she lay on the floor clutching her wound. He looked over to her and instantly felt worried for her. He picked her up and started carrying her to the nurse's office, hoping she would be ok.

Budo and Nemesis sat together in a park. It had been a few months since Budo had murdered Ayano, and they'd both changed. Budo had received help for his insanity, and the stab wound Nemesis had gotten from her fight with Ayano had healed. They barely spoke to each other since then, but occasionally spoke when they saw each other. Eventually, Budo had gathered the courage to ask her out. He was delighted when she'd said yes.
"Thanks for helping me, Nemesis." He said. She refused to tell him her real name, going by Nemesis-chan to him and everyone else she spoke to.
"It was nothing." She said coldly. He smiled a little and put his arm around her. Before she could ask what he was doing, he passionately placed his lips to hers. "You're insane, Budo-kun." She scolded once they'd stopped kissing.
"Nope, I was tested recently." He smirked, kissing her again.
