72: You'll Forget Me Soon Enough

Hayato Haruki x Nemesis-chan (Tekitai):

"Have you heard about the new girl?"
"Apparently she's leaving tomorrow?"
"Really? Didn't she just arrive?"
"Yeah. Weird, right?"
"I wonder why she's leaving."
"Yeah. It's a complete mystery."
Hayato stood in silence as he listened to the group talk about a female student in the school. He didn't know her personally, all he knew was her name was Tekitai Akane. He watched in silence as she approached the group, completely invisible to the others.
"If you're going to talk about me, say it to my face." She said emotionlessly, making her presence known. The boys began to apologise, while she casually walked away. Hayato decided to follow her, ask her something he'd been meaning to since they first met.

"Tekitai wait." He called to her. She stopped walking and turned to face him as he caught up to her. Her face was stone as she looked at him.
"What do you want, Hayato?" She asked emotionlessly. She refused to show her emotions, but didn't care about what people thought of her.
"Would you like to eat lunch with me tomorrow? Maybe like a date... or not... only if you want to, that is." He said, feeling more awkward. She looked at him, confused. Part of her couldn't believe someone wanted a date with her.
"Sure. Why not." She said, still not showing an emotion to the green haired boy in front of her.
"Ok. Nice. Meet me in the cooking club at lunch." He smiled, excited to spend time with Tekitai. She nodded her head once at him before walking away.

The next day, Hayato sat in the club room waiting for Nemesis to arrive. He had already asked Amai if he could have the room for his date, and was relieved when she had said yes. The door opened, and Nemesis walked in.
"I'm glad you came, Tekitai." Hayato smiled as she sat down opposite him. "Here, I made you this." He stood up and brought over 2 hot plates of teriyaki fried chicken and noodles. She blushed a little as he sat down and placed her plate in front of her. She took a bite of the chicken and smiled at him.
"This is really good." She said, eating more. He smiled as they both ate in silence.
"May I ask you something?" He said once she had finished eating. She looked up and nodded her head. "Why are you leaving? I swear you just started here." He said. Anyone who knew her in the school also had a similar question. She immediately felt uncomfortable, knowing she couldn't tell him.
"Personal reasons." She said coldly. He sighed, leaning back on his chair. He was sad to see her go, as he had a crush on her. Even though he barely knew her, he had a small crush on her.
"I know you're leaving, but I have a crush on you." He admitted. She looked at him with a raised eyebrow, sighing. She didn't make eye contact.
"I've heard that a few times. They last the week, then they forget me." She muttered, sadly. Her words confused Hayato.
"I wouldn't forget you." He said. She shook her head, laughing quietly.
"You will forget about me. But it's ok, I'm used to it." She muttered. He sighed, she clearly didn't believe him. He suddenly leant over the table and kissed her on the lips.
"I won't forget you, Tekitai. I promise."

5 years later:

Hayato stood in the clothes store with his girlfriend. He looked around, waiting for the girl he was with to finish looking at clothes. He saw a face that looked kinda familiar, but he didn't recognise it. She looked over at him, and gave him a sad smile when she saw he didn't remember her. He watched her walk away, seeing sadness in her face. He didn't even realise he'd just broken his promise to Nemesis.
