Cupa Kurosagi & Angel (kittyanimegirl1 ):

Cupa sat on the school roof, waiting for her best friend Angel. They ate lunch together most days, and today was no exception. Angel ran over to her and sat down beside the dark haired girl.
"Hey Cupa. How have you been?" Angel asked, noticing the smile on Cupa's face. She blushed and looked at the sushi in her lap. She nodded her head a little.
" Good. Guess what? He asked me out last night." She smiled. She had been talking to a guy she liked for a while, and he asked her out the day before. Angel squealed happily, throwing her arms around Cupa.
"I'm so happy for you!" She cheered, hugging her tighter. Cupa laughed and hugged her best friend back. They silently broke the hug and started eating their lunches.

The next day, Angel met up with Cupa before school. She immediately noticed a small bruise on Cupa's arm.
"What happened?" Angel asked, pointing at the bruise. Cupa shrugged her shoulders, trying to pull her sleeve down a little to hide it.
"Oh, I accidentally hit it when I was practicing." She said casually. Angel could tell she was lying, but didn't say anything. She didn't want to start a fight with her. "Anyway. How are you?" She asked, changing the subject.
"I've been good." Angel said, casually shrugging her shoulders. They walked in silence for a minute. "Do you want to walk to ballet tonight?" She asked. Both  girls liked ballet, and both were good at it.
"Yeah." Cupa nodded her head as they continued walking.

Over the next few months, the bruises on Cupa's small, pale body became more obvious. She tried to hide them with makeup, jumpers and tights, but they were still there. Angel had noticed them, and was concerned. They had only started appearing after Cupa had entered a relationship, and she was sure there was a link. Cupa didn't say anything, often making excuses, but Angel correctly assumed they weren't accidents.

"Is something bothering you?" Angel asked her best friend that lunch. They were on the rooftop alone at lunch. Angel noticed something was making Cupa upset, but she didn't want to say anything.
"I'm fine, Angel. You worry too much." She whined, smiling at Angel. She frowned back, noticing the smile on Cupa's face was fake.
"No you're not. Tell me what's wrong." Angel persisted. Cupa shook her head, not wanting to talk about it. She started to walk away, but Angel refused to let her go. "Talk to me, Cupa!" She demanded.
"I said I'm fine. I don't want to talk about it." Cupa snapped, breaking out of Angel's grasp and starting to walking away.
"I'm sorry." Angel said suddenly, realising what she had done. She had started an argument with Cupa over something ridiculous. Cupa turned back, a little confused.
"I'm sorry too." Cupa apologised also. She really didn't want to lose Angel as a best friend. Both girls smiled and hugged each other. They didn't often fight, but made up almost instantly when they did.

The next day, Angel was running late to class. She pushed open the door, and immediately noticed Cupa wasn't sat at her desk. On her desk, however, was a flower. Flowers were placed on student's desks when they have died. She sat down, her body shaking slightly. This had to be a sick joke, right? Cupa couldn't be dead.
"I'm sorry..." the teacher apologised, standing in front of the class. She almost didn't hear what the teacher said next. All she heard was Cupa had been found dead.

Angel had been assigned the job of cleaning out Cupa's locker. As her best friend, it seemed only right that she do it. She opened the locker and started bagging up the items inside. Indoor shoes... small makeup bag... spare pencil case... oh, what's that? She removed the small, pink, sparkly book from the back of the locker. She opened it up to the first page and realised it was a diary. Angel finished cleaning out Cupa's locker before heading to the rooftop alone to privately read Cupa's diary. She knew Cupa would hate her if she had read the diary while she was alive, but maybe it hinted at why Cupa had died.

She sat on the school roof, holding Cupa's diary in her shaky hands. She opened it, and read the last written page, which was yesterday.
Dear Diary:
I don't know how I feel anymore. I was delighted when he finally asked me out, but everything wasn't what it seemed. He gets angry a lot, and treats me like a punching bag when he's mad. I'm scared of him. I still love him, but this can't continue. I'm going to break up with him today, but I'm scared. If anyone other than me is reading this, chances are he killed me. All I can hope is that it doesn't come to that.
Cupa
Angel felt nothing but anger. She had seen the marks, and almost knew it wasn't an accident. She felt she should've spoken up and said something. If she had, maybe her best friend would still be here. Tears streamed down her face, as she played out scenarios in her mind that she felt should've happened. Maybe if she had said something to someone, Cupa would be fine. She felt she should've said something to save Cupa.
