160: I Hope You Open The door

Budo looked around the club room, frowning a little. Everyone he was friends with was in a relationship, while he was still single. He'd began to fear nobody would love him.
"You alright, Budo?" Mina asked, looking over at him as he made a loud sigh. He nodded his head even though he wasn't completely alright.
"I'm fine, Mina." He told her, giving his usual positive smile. She didn't seem convinced, but didn't say anything to him. He would just deflect it anyway.

Stood outside the club door was Hanako Yamada. She had developed a crush on Budo, but was terrified to confess her feelings to him incase he rejected her. With Ayano's help, Hanako had gotten to learn Budo's likes and dislikes so he would like her more. So far, he hadn't even noticed her. She walked away, deciding to talk to Ayano about confessing to Budo. Maybe she would have a good idea.

That evening, Hanako and Ayano sat on Taro's bed talking. He had to go out and buy food, so it was just the 2 girls. Ayano had started dating Taro a few months ago, and Ayano had started helping Hanako win Budo's heart like she had won Taro's.
"I heard Mina plans to confess her love to Budo on Friday..." Ayano murmured. Hanako looked at her, shocked. 'What?' She gasped in shock. 'Please, help me win his heart.' Hanako seemed to beg, shuffling over to Ayano. The older girl laughed, putting her arm around him. "Don't worry, Hanako, I have a plan."

That Thursday after school, Budo had to stay behind by himself to catch up on some school work. That was when Hanako decided to try Ayano's plan. She stood outside the door holding a large sign. She tapped on the door once to get his attention, then held up the sign. He looked over and laughed a little as he read it. The words on the sign read 'I have a crush on you Budo'. Hanako was hidden behind the sign so he couldn't see her. She ducked down to pick up the other sign. He read it again as she held it up, hiding behind it again. 'Open the door if you accept my confession'. Budo thought about it for a moment, deciding against accepting a love confession from an unknown person. It took a minute for Hanako to realise he wasn't opening the door. She began to cry, putting down the sign and walking away. Budo saw her face, and felt incredibly guilty. He would've opened instantly if he knew it was Hanako. He got up and rushed out the door to her. She didn't notice. He wrapped his arms around her from behind.
"I accept your love confession. I'm sorry." He told her into her ear. She turned around and hugged him back, burying her face into his chest.
