Part 63 - Maths is easy as cake

So this is a really long update.  But I've changed the cast.  Only slightly, but I think it is better.  So you might wanna check out the changes.  Or you can just imagine who you want. They are all so beautiful and I love them all.

It had been three weeks since we made our confessions. Three weeks since the forest.

I was studying furiously for my last exam. Everyone has left school, it's out for the Summer and I should be finished too. But I am not. I got to sit my exams after everyone else because of what's happened as I needed to learn the course. They all tried to make me just resit the year, but I wanted to do it. I wanted it over with this year. The school board were very understanding and I was grateful to them, strangely enough.

So as I said, I am currently at Luke and Calum's house, attempting to study for my last exam, Maths. Luke was helping me and we were going over every single unit that was in the course. "Are you understanding everything?" He asked me. I smiled at him. "Yeah, it is like everything makes sense I've actually found myself liking the fact that there is a definitive answer with Math." Luke grinned back at me. "You're finally getting the beauty of mathematics, my friend!" I laughed at him. He never failed to make me laugh. We studied for a while longer.

I had finally finished my last past paper and Luke was marking them when I went to the bathroom. I did my business and as I was walking back I heard screaming. "Fuck you! I hate you so fucking much! Just go!" To say I wasn't a little surprised and concerned would be a lie. I walk hesitantly out of the room and down the hallway to the main sitting room. I walked in to see Michael sitting playing a game and fuming. That's what the shouting was! I laughed to myself, which caught his attention.

Michael spun around in his seat, after pausing the game, to look at me. I smiled at him. "Hey Michael." I greeted him. "Oh. Hey Summer. You done studying?" He asked and I nodded. "Finally! Last exam prep done." I grinned as I walked closer to him. "You wanna play?" He said, holding a controller out to me. "Sure. I've not played in ages though, so I might not be so good." I admitted and he chuckled. "That's what I'm hoping for." I smacked him with a pillow. "Rude." I chuckled and he laughed as we set up a new game of Fifa.

We played for a while. "Yass!" "Goddamn!" Michael and I shouted at the same time. "Why you gotta hurt me this way Mikey?" I asked with humour as he got another penalty. He laughed. "You might save it." He shrugged. I scowled at him as we took our positions in the game. It was tense, I'll admit that. Suddenly it was a done and the screams were coming from us both as the game shut off and we were immersed in darkness. The power cut out. We were in the last kick of the fifth game at a two-all draw and the world decided we would never know who was the champion.

"What's the screaming for!?" We hear someone shout behind us. We both turn to look back. Calum is stood there with his arms crossed. Damn, even in the dim light coming from the fairy lights on the Christmas tree, he looked good. I bit my lip to hide my grin. "We will never know who wins!" Michael shouted. I laughed. "I am obviously better." I told him and he turned to me with an outrageous look on his face. "Not even nearly true." He said and I gapped at him. "The only reason you won the last game is because you cheated! You watched my controller!" I accused and he shrugged. "I play to my strengths." "Your strength is cheating!" I said and he just chuckled.

Calum came over to us and hugged me from behind as he lifted me off the couch. "Calm down. It's just a game." He told me and I just eased into him, loving his touch. I let out a sigh as he kissed me on the cheek. "Hey." I said quietly to him. "Hey." He smiled to me as he let me go to turn around in his arms. "I'm just going to leave." Michael said as he watched us. "Yeah, you do that." Calum said without looking at his best friend. "15 years we've been best friends and I don't even get a hug." He grumbled as he walked out. We knew he was joking so we just laughed quietly.
