Maddie

I sat at my desk, on my laptop, doing some research about the first trimester of pregnancy.

I scrolled through different websites, learning about the whole process. I wasn't showing yet, but I know I will soon. My clothes have become a little snug lately.

I'd rather tell my brother the news before he starts noticing. I've been wearing extra large t-shirts just in case.

How Big Is Baby at 10 Weeks?

During week 10 of pregnancy, baby is as big as a strawberry, measuring about 1.2 inches long and weighing about .14 ounces. Your 10-week baby's body length will almost double in the next three weeks.

My door was open, and Jason came and knocked.

"Hey," he said.

I slam my laptop shut.

"You can come in."

He stood in front of me.

"I need to tell you something."

"Me too," I replied. I wasn't thinking. Too late to back out now.

"Maybe we could say it at the same time?"

As twins, I've noticed our similarities. We both liked to get to the point when sharing any type of news.

"Yeah, sure." Rip it off like a bandaid, Maddie. It's only two words.

"Okay," he breathed. "One, two, three."

At the same time, he said, "I'm bisexual," and I said, "I'm pregnant."

"Wait, really?" Jason looked surprised, then his face twisted into something else.

Anger.

"I wanna kill that guy," he spat.

I put a hand on his arm. "I know." I was surprisingly calm. I let my anger and frustrations out already.

"You're bisexual?" I wanted to make sure I heard that correctly.

"I am." I knew that this wasn't the traditional way to reveal such news, but we were no way a traditional family. "I have a boyfriend, too."

"When do we get to meet him?" I asked.

"Soon enough." Then he let out a huge smile. He looked so relieved. "I'm so glad it's out there."

"I can say the same thing," I admitted. It wasn't easy telling my family the big news. I originally pictured myself married with a baby on the way, not in high school, and the father wasn't someone I loved.

But I did love someone. And that's all that mattered. I knew that I'd be okay. I chose to believe it.

Caleb was on his way.

I would've invited Austin to join us for dinner, but he could come over another night. This was Jason's time.

We were having a late Christmas dinner. Jen had her interview on Christmas Day, and I spent the day with Austin.

Because Jen couldn't be here to see us open our presents, we were told to wait an extra day.

Jen's parents showed up to help make tonight's dinner.
