I didn't know how much preparation went in to having the perfect prom night.
It took some time to find the perfect dress. I had two requests: I wanted it to fit me comfortably and I wanted to look good in it. Just because I'm having a baby doesn't mean I can't have style.
In the process, I accidently ripped one of the dresses I tried on. The dress was emerald green and had long sleeves. Jen wasn't upset. She giggled at first, then paid for the dress in full. I didn't even want to look at the price tag.
I eventually found a sleeveless dress that fit wonderfully on me. The top part was glittery, and the bottom was loose-fitting and flowy.
I had gotten my nails done to match my dress, and on the day of prom, it was time for me to get my hair and makeup done.
Watching YouTube tutorials have helped tremendously. I became a skilled makeup artist, and messed up less frequently.
I didn't show Austin what my makeup looked like ahead of time. I wanted to see his initial reaction when he first saw me.
"Can you help me zip it?" I asked Jen.
Once zipped, she grabbed my shoes.
There was no way I'd wear high heels tonight. My feet and ankles were beginning to swell, and I didn't like to stand for long periods of time. My dress was long enough to cover my tennis shoes.

I didn't want tonight to be too extravagant. I tried my best to be humble no matter what.
Austin came over with flowers, and I think Jen was more excited about tonight than we were. I lost count of how many pictures she took.
