“Arff..” Ramdam ko ang basang dila ng aso sa mukha ko.

Rinig kong bulungan nila. Pagmulat ko ng mata ko pareho silang nakatingin saakin. “Good morning,” Jax said sweetly. “Max, say good morning to mommy..”
“Arff..arff.. Arff..”
I giggled. “Good morning..” They smiled. “And don't call me mommy.”
“Why? Max needs a mother..”
“He's a dog.”
“So?”
“He's an animal!”
Tinakpan n'ya ang tenga ng aso. “How dare you! Sinabi mo pa 'yan sa harap ni Max..”
“I'm telling the truth!”
“You're hurting his feelings..”
“He's a dog! Hindi niya ako naiintindihan!”
“He can! He always listen to you.. You're his mother..”
Naningkit ang mata ko. “Hindi ko 'yan anak.”
“Ampon natin s'ya..”
Napabuntong-hininga nalang ako. Walang mararating ang pinag-uusapan namin.
Tatayo na sana ako pero pinigilan ako ni Jax. “Say sorry to Max..”
“What the fudge?!”
“Dali..” He raised his voice.. “Repeat after me..” Lumunok s'ya. “Max..”
I glared at Jax at humarap sa aso. “Max..”
“I'm very sorry..”
“I'm very sorry..”
“I promise, I will be a great mommy to you..”
I glared at him again. “I promise, I will be a great mommy to you..”
“I love you, Jax..”
“I love you, Max..” I giggled.
“Unfair! Sabi ko 'repeat after me.” He pouted.
I stick out my tongue. “Bleh!”
“Now you're hurting my feelings.” He pouted even more.
“Bahala ka d'yan.” Binuhat ko si Max. “Tara sa labas, iwan natin si daddy.”
“Arff” I take that as a yes.
