   "LUMALA ang sakit niya, kaya napilitan na ang mga kamag-anak n'ya na pa-operhan siya." Usal ni Maxine, habang inaayos ang mga gamot ni Neil sa cabinet..

   "Kamusta sa s'ya, ngayon?" Neil asked..

   "Hindi successful 'yong operasyon, so she died last month.." She added.. "First was my mother, and now tita.."

   "Ow.." Neil sighed.. "I'm sorry for asking.."

   "It's okay.." She gave him a fake smile.. "You know what they say, people come, and people go.."

   "Y-You still have your dad, right?" He tried to cheer her up..

   She smiled bitterly.. "He died when I was four years old." She let out a big sighed. "They said it was a car accident." She gazed at him.. You know him, actually.."

   He looked at her confused.. "H-Huh?"

   "He's your step-father.. He's my biological father.." She explained. Naiwan nakatulala si Neil, hindi makapaniwala sa sinabi niya.. "My mom said, he met another woman. They had a daugther named after me, Marinette.. But they both died in the car accident and the mistress survived.." She looks disgusted.. "I can't believe it. She should have died as well.."

  "So she's my step-father's daugther? It means Avril is her sister in his father side.. That's why their names are both Marinette?" He thought..

   Hinanap niya ang phone niya sa kama pero hindi niya ito nakita.. "Have you seen my phone?" Tanong niya sa kasama niya..

  "Saan mo po huling nilagay 'yon phone mo?" Tanong ni Marinette

  He shooked his head.. "Hindi ko matandaan.." He continued looking for his phone..

  Itinago ni Marinette sa likod niya ang phone ni Neil na kanina pang nasa kanya. Naka-airplane mode ito, at pinatay pa niya.. Pasimpleng isiningit niya ito sa gilid ng sofa bed.. "Naiwan mo ata sa banyo?" Tanong niya..

  "Hindi ko ata dinala 'don.." Tumayo si Neil para maghanap sa mga cabinet..

  "Titingnan ko.." Pagpiprinsinta niya, at nagkunwaring naghahanap doon..

   "Baka tumatawag na sina Lucas ngayon.." He sighed, as he checked every compartment..

   "Wala dito sa banyo e.." Usal ni Marinette, at lumabas.. "Humiga ka na, ako na po ang maghahanap.."

   Napabuntong-hininga nalang siya at sinunod ang sinabi ng nurse.. Habang patuloy na naghahanap ang dalaga..
