I silently watched Vanessa move around the kitchen as she fixed lunch. I noticed she had a pep in her step today and that smile never seemed to falter. That wasn't because of me. I slept in the guest room, so something gave her a boost on her own.

And I somehow figured what is was. Hm.

"So, what's your schedule today?" I questioned from my spot at the table.

She popped her head up, looking over at me and the glow diminished slightly. "I have to make some business calls for the show and figure when I have to fly out-"

"Wait, fly out? Again?" She sat a plate with a sandwich and chips in front of me as she nodded. "For what?"

"Fashion week, Y/n. This is the first time my brand is walking so of course I'm gonna go show some support." I sulked down in my chair and picked at the chips. A sigh left her lips as she sat next to me. "I know everything is happening kind of sporadically in the time of this move and I'm sorry about that. It'll be in Milan and I'll only be there for three days."

"Yeah." I mumbled and brought the sandwich to my lips before taking a bite. I watched her eyes advert down before she stood up to grab her ringing phone. "Who's that?"

She showed me the screen displaying 'Kendall', a wide smile pulling at her lips. "She's going to fashion week too so we're just ironing out the details." But that smile wasn't a 'talking to my best friend' smile. And when she walked out of the kitchen, I knew I wasn't stupid. Why did she have to leave for that?

I put the sandwich back down and took in a slow breath. Welp, looks like she'll be spending another three days away with July.

"Y/n, good to see you, I'm Doctor Greyson." I shook his hand before sitting in the office he had. "So your former doctor, Mr Cravitz, sent me your medical history and your prescription of Zoloft is low?" I nodded. "How are you feeling? Do you think you need a refill?"

"I think I'm good actually. I haven't been having any bad dreams or breakdowns lately." He nodded and wrote something down on his paper. "Do you think I could go without it?"

"Well that depends." He looked back up and folded his hands together. "Have you been taking the recommended doses?"

"Yeah. I haven't taken more than I should if that's what you're asking."

"That's good, you should be able to ease off perfectly then. Go from every other day to every two days and so on until you feel fine. Stopping completely could raise some negative effects so make sure you take it day by day." He tore a paper from the book thingy before handing me a slip of paper for ten pills.

"Thank you, doc." He smiled lightly and nodded before standing up and opening the door for me.

"Have a great day, Y/ln."

I walked mindlessly down the halls when I saw a certain doctor talking to a younger looking patient.

I gulped and took a step back, hoping to get out of her sight before she saw me but I was too late. She looked up and caught my eye just as I spun around and tried to speed walk back to the elevator.

"Y/n?" I heard her call out but I didn't stop.

I slid into the open elevator and pressed the down button before pressing my back against the wall with my eyes closed. Sighing lightly, I mentally patted myself on the back.

"That was funny." I slammed my eyes back open and looked to the side to see Steph leaned against the wall with a smirk. "You tried though, so I'll give you a B for the effort."
