"Monkey, look." I said to my daughter and she gasped once she saw the baby lion press it's face against the glass. Rosie leaned forward and held her forehead to the glass ass well, holding eye contact with the baby animal."Mommy?" I hummed. "I want a baby lion for my birthday."
"I don't know about that one, babe. Your dog is still coming." I said with a chuckle as I ran my fingers through her hair. "And I have a farm.. not a zoo."
"Then I will make my own zoo. Call it Neverland for Animals." I smiled and pecked her forehead.
For my youngest birthday, I reserved a room that costed more than the law should allow but I could see why it was so expensive. It was your typical party room but instead of walls, glass surrounded us so we could see all the animals up close while celebrating.
It really was cool. I only invited a few people, for obvious reason, and we were all having a blast.
Justin and Hailey brought their son, they went to show him the giraffes since he loved those. Viv and Toddy were coming as well, they were running late (as always). Ellie and Charly went to see koala bears, and Nylah was in the corner of the room talking about something with Trevor. It looked serious so I didn't want to intervene.
As I stood up from my kneeled position on the floor, I heard my name called. It was Vanessa.
"Sorry I'm late. Kids practice ran a bit over schedule." The twins gasped when they saw me and started running.
"Hey guys, no running." Neels said, on the other side of Vanessa.
They both completely ignored him and dove into my arms at full speed. "Ahh I missed my babiesss. How is school?"
"Good. We have spring break in two weeks." I playfully widened my eyes at Stella's words.
"Okay so that means you're spending that whole week with me right?" I said and bopped her nose. "So be ready to ride horses and pick vegetables and stuff."
"Gross." Ezra said with a frown. "Earring stuff from the dirt?" I gave him a look and he raised his hands. "I only eat In n Out, Ma."
"Of course you do." I mumbled to myself. "Go tell Rosie happy birthday." I said as I stood up and they nodded, speeding over to her. Now it was time to face the other couple. "Hey, thanks for coming." I said with a curt smile as I gave Vanessa a quick hug, then moved over to shake Neels hand.
"Of course. Couldn't miss the little ones birthday." Neels said with a wide smile. "Where's your girl?"
"In Oregon. She's already missed a few days so she has to grind out the rest of this semester so she can graduate in December." Vanessa hummed and raised her eyebrows. "What?"
"So, this is her last year?" I nodded. "That's so crazy to me."
"What is?" I asked as the three of us sat on the little themed table.
"I mean.. I figure you pay for everything so I'm wondering why she still goes to college." My eyebrows shot up and I turned to her with a frown. "I don't mean that in a disrespectful way." She said quickly. "Just most twenty one year old girls living in Los Angeles would hop at the opportunity to date someone rich so they don't have to do anything."
"Well she's not most girls." I said, disdain on my tongue. "She has a vision for her future and wants to see it out. I respect and encourage that."
"That's kinda gotta suck though. That you don't get to see her a lot." Neels piped up. "I can't go two days without a little lovin'-"
"Cornelius." Vanessa hissed out, smacking his thigh.
