Two months later

I leaned back on the seats, watching my opening acts do sound check.
"Yo." I looked up smiling lightly at Vivian. "Big show, you ready?"
"Yep. They're pretty good huh?" I said, pointing at the five boys on stage.
We watched prettymuch dance expertly while singing simultaneously. "Yeah, you're gonna have a bunch of teenage hornies here for six months." I chuckled and nodded. That was true. "So, how are you and Vanessa?"
Sucking my teeth, I shook my head softly. "Haven't really talked. I guess we're cool but there's still this barrier there."
"Yeah." She nodded, listening.
"We just need more time to figure things out." I jumped when I suddenly felt myself being drenched with water, and I automatically knew who it was. "Nick!" I shouted, watching him laugh and run away with his fucking water gun. "Someone needs to take that thing from him." I huffed out, wringing out my shirt.
"Well, you chose a bunch of young boys as your opening acts, what do you expect?"
I sighed and stood up. "I'm still regretting it."
I walked down the corridor and I could hear giggles from behind me. Lord help me..
"Ten thousand hours annoying youu." That was Edwin. I spun around and they quickly hid against the wall as if they were invisible.
"Guys...I can see you." I rolled my eyes playfully and kept walking to my dressing room, only to feel a sprout of water shoot at my back. I ignored it and went into the room, sticking my head out to face them again. "One day, I'm gonna fuck you all up and you won't expect it."
They all 'oh-ed' and ran back down the hall. I chuckled at their good hearted immaturity, turning around to face the twins who were drawing per usual.
Lately that's all they wanted to do. No TV, no tablet, hell not even play outside anymore. It was just drawing. I laid down besides them and looked at what they were scribbling on the paper. "What are you making?" I asked Stella.
She moved her hand, pushing the paper to me. "A doggy at a park." I hummed with a smile. "Is it good?"
"Yes baby, really good." I pushed her paper back, turning to Ezra. "What are you making?"
His tongue stuck out of his mouth in concentration. "A dinosaur."
"You love your dinosaurs huh?" He nodded while using the red marker to draw some spikes onto the dinosaurs back. I smiled and rolled onto my back, staring up at the ceiling.
I felt my eyes start to get heavy and knowing the twins would be fine, I let the exhaustion wash over me.

I jumped awake when I heard my ringtone blaring in my ear. I wiped my eyes and grabbed it, pressing answer. "Hello?"
"Wow." I squinted at the screen seeing Steph, laughing in her scrubs. "Nice make up."
"What do you mean?" I rasped out, sitting up slightly to look in the mirror. "What the fuck?"
I had red marker around my lips, red on my cheeks, large bold letters saying 'Mama' on my forehead and a bunch of other incoherent scribbled.
"Come back so I can screenshot." I glared at her, rolling my eyes when I heard the screen shutter, signifying she did in fact take a screenshot. "Your twins are real artists."
