I pushed my legs harder to match the pace of the music blaring through my AirPods. My body was aching and dripping with sweat, my muscles clenching with every stride I took.I kept my head down and pumped my arms harder until I finally reach the top of the hill. I slowed to a stop and rested my hands on top of my head as Justin jogged up besides me seconds later.
I pulled my AirPods out as he huffed. "Shit, you got faster."
"All I lived around was hills and steep roads for three years. You gotta catch up, son." He smacked his lips and pushed me to the side before looking out at the view, seemingly thinking deeply.
"So, they come back today." He said and I sighed as I nodded, kicking softly at the rocks in the dirt. "You know what you're gonna say?"
"I just want the truth. That's all I've ever wanted." I looked over at him as he watched me with sincere eyes. "All my life I've been lied to. Rather it was my uncle, my mom when she said she wasn't sick, the whole Vanessa and Vivian ordeal and the affair, Taylor trying to pin a kid on me, Steph saying her divorce was finalized. For once I just need someone to be honest with me, you know?"
"That's what you need to say. And I don't mean just half ass say it, you're nice Y/n. You're the nicest most caring person I know but it's not time to be nice, it's time to get the answers you want and deserve." We both heard snaps and turned to see a paparazzi found our spot. "Smile for the cameras." He joked and I laughed softly. "Come on, breakfast on me."
"Bet." I mumbled and walked besides him, mentally preparing myself for the questions that were about to come.
"Good morning, Y/n." The guy said and I smiled.
"Good morning.." I trailed off, waiting for him to say his name.
"Paul."
"Good morning Paul!" I exclaimed and Justin chuckled. "How are you?" I asked, playing his own game.
"Good good, actually got in a little hike earlier this morning." He responded while backing up and filming.
"Was that hike following us?" Justin retorted playfully and I snorted.
"Actually... yes." The guy responded good heartedly. "How's everything though, Y/n? Everything good?"
I could see he was testing the waters and trying to see if I was up for questions, which I wasn't.
"I'm good man. Just enjoying the nature." He nodded softly as we neared our car.
"Gotcha. So, you guys got any new music coming out? Maybe a collab?" I crinkled my nose and looked up at Justin who whistled a low instrumental to himself, something we started working on in the last few days. "Ah, are we hearing it here? A new song alert?"
"You just gotta wait and see, Paul." Justin responded with a shrug before opening the door to his white G-wagon.
"Ok guys, have a great rest of your day." I smiled and waved at the guy then slid into the passenger seat.
"So, where you wanna go?" Justin asked, slowly pulling off the dirt road and turning onto the street.
"The griddle?" I proposed and he nodded.
"You read my mind." He smiled out.

We were now done with our food and was just taking in the day, chilling at the semi crowded food spot as we talked about my upcoming album.
"So are you guys going to tour right after or wait a while?" Justin asked, biting into his toast.
"Legit like two weeks after it drops is our first tour date." His eyebrows raised and I nodded. "With the investors we got, we were able to set up all the US dates and expect the tour to go well so we can make an overseas leg."
