Because I wanna be nice before breaking your hearts. Here's another update.
Enjoy....if you can

I groaned and dropped my bag onto the floor once I entered my house. This flying back and forth shit was horrible, I don't know how I survived on tour.

Also Kansas and LA being two hour time difference fucked up my head. I'd probably be working on beats or something but it was one am.

I trudged up the stairs, taking my jacket off along the way while going into the bedroom. Looking at the bed, Vanessa was already sleeping on her back, her hands holding her belly.

I smiled softly and quickly changed before climbing into the bed with her.

"You're home," She called out sleepily. I hummed and wrapped my arms around her before pulling her body into me. "How was it?"

"Shitty. We'll discuss custody in the next few months." She nodded and turned her head into my shoulder. "Are we okay?" I asked softly.

She pushed her hands up the sleeve of my long sleeved shirt, her warm skin heating up my cold arms. "Yeah, we're okay." I smiled softly and drew random shapes on her back as I pulled her more into me. "We have an appointment tomorrow. A check up for the baby."

"Yeah, first time with a new Doctor." I said sadly. "I'm gonna miss Doc Cravitz."

"Me too but hopefully we'll get a doctor as good as him." She muttered, her voice starting to fade.

"Yeah, go to sleep babe." She hummed silently before being completely succumbing to sleep.

I laid up for a few minutes as I thought to myself about who would be here. Kansas City wasn't huge, at all. Compared to Los Angeles, KC was just Disneyland. I don't know why but I felt nervous. Seeing her was one thing, living in the same city was just..different. I was nervous as fuck.

Would we just be normal, even if we left off with absolutely no closure. Just pretend everything was fine? She didn't have her ring so I'm assuming her and Jason didn't work out...again. But I was married, and I loved Vanessa. Why was I nervous? I shook it off and closed my eyes. I didn't have anything to be nervous about. It was just Steph.

"This is why I left Denmark." Vanessa huffed out as she was clad in her warm clothing. She honestly looked like a cute grumpy chipmunk and it was adorable.

"You look cute baby." I rubbed her parka covered arms. "We have to be there in thirty minutes, we can stop for some coffee?"

"Yes please." She said like a little baby as she leaned into me. I wrapped my arm around her shoulder before turning back to the babysitter who was sat in the living room with the sleeping twins. "They'll be fine, come on." She mumbled and nudged me to start walking.

I nodded and grabbed the car keys, leading us to the Range. I opened the car door for her and allowed her to climb in before I went to the drivers side.

"Hurry, turn the heater on." She mumbled just as I sat down. I blew into my hands before turning the ignition, the heat button turning right after. "I'm going back to sleep." She mumbled and reclined the seat.

I nodded and grabbed her hand, driving onto the road.

We had to wake up earlier than usual, five thirty to be exact, because the appointment was at six fifteen. The new Doctor we had was Sara Wilborn and she was the best ultrasound technician-slash-OB/GYN at Westwind hospital.

That reminded me. I knew someone else would be working there and I prayed she wasn't here today. Maybe she wouldn't have moved yet, right?

Wrong.
