I sat on the wooden chair as I watched Vanessa talk with the priest. I rolled the wedding ring in my hand as we waited for Ellie to get here. We needed a witness and she was the first person I thought of.
I couldn't believe we were gonna seal the deal . Right here right now. On the car ride here we still decided on having a big wedding where we would actually invite our families and all of that. But I guess we both couldn't wait. I wanted her to be mines forever and she was ready for the same.
The doors opened and the brunette walked in with a wide smile. "Wow." She mumbled.
"Thanks for coming." I said as I gave her a hug.
"Of course, thank you for calling me." She hugged Vanessa before stepping back and looking at us both. "Wow this is..this is really happening." She said in astonishment. Her eyes took me in as a softer tone adopted her. "You, wow, I'm so proud of you." She pulled me into another hug, rubbing my back gently. "You've always wanted this. Since freshman year this is what you wanted."
"I know." I nodded as I held her back. "Right idea, wrong girl."
She pulled back and held my face between her hands. "Not now. Now it's the right girl, right idea, right everything. She's perfect for you. She's the only one who can put up with you." I felt myself start to get choked as I nodded. "Don't let her go, you idiot." I wiped my falling tears and nodded again.
"Are you all ready?" The priest asked.
I sniffed and pulled back from Ellie as I used my sleeves to wipe my face. "I'm crying and I didn't even say I do yet." Vanessa chuckled before wrapping her arm around me and rubbing my back. "Are you ready?" I asked her. She nodded quickly. I looked back at the priest and nodded. "We're ready."
"Okay." He started off with us repeating after him. Promising each other through sickness and in health which we had already been through enough. "Do you have any vows?"
I winced and looked at Vanessa who was making the same face. "I didn't."
"Me neither." I sighed out before shrugging. "From the heart then, let's go."
She smiled up at me and nodded.
I cleared my throat before grabbing her hands. "Vanessa, honestly what would I do without you? I'd probably be dead or strung out at this moment. When I was in the deep end, you swam out and carried me back yourself. I don't have enough words to thank you for everything you did for me. You saved my life, literally." I licked my salting lips as a lone tear fell. "I love you and I promise I'll spend every moment loving you, thanking you, repaying you, and providing for you."
Her eyes were well and wet as she nodded softly. "Give me a moment." She squeaked out as she looked down. I smiled and rubbed my thumb over her hand. She sniffed before nodding again and raising her head. "Okay, I'm ready."
"Take your time." I mumbled lowly.
She wiped her cheeks before grabbing my hand again. "When I was twenty one, I had just broken up with Philip a few months prior to that. I was heartbroken. I told myself that I wouldn't fall in love again, I would just have fun and focus on modeling. Then you came alone." I smiled as I thought about our first meeting.
"It was just suppose to be fun. I told myself that I wouldn't get serious, I would just have a body to go to when I felt bored or lonely," my jaw dropped and she chuckled through her tears. "No listen, that was before, okay?"
"Wow, I never knew this." I breathed out and looked at Ellie who was crying with a smile. "Did you know about this?"
"Shh babe let me finish." Vanessa hushed me as she turned me to face her again. "All of that changed when I was driving home after the bowling alley, remember?" I nodded. "As I was driving with you in the phone, my heart was pumping. I couldn't stop smiling as I replayed every moment we had in that bowling alley.
