"She kicked your ass, babes." I rolled my eyes at Yovanna as I stretched my sides.

"I don't blame her. It has been three years." I shook my head and sat back on the bed. "But I just.. they were right there. A mere wall away from me."

She nodded sympathetically as she took a swig of a pink cooler. "What will you do? If Vanessa doesn't want you to see them, it's pretty hard to."

I raised my head when there was a knock at the door and Johann sprung up to open it before I got the chance. I assumed he ordered some food so I looked back at the camera.

Yovanna, though a tad bit younger than I was, she was way more mature than most girls at twenty two. I liked that about her. She didn't question me, she didn't pester. She was just there for me which is exactly what I needed in these past years.

"What are you staring at?" She questioned with a cocked eyebrow.

I shook my head softly and smiled. "Nothing, you just look cute." She tilted her head and smiled cutely. "See? That's adorable wow. Screenshot." I quickly took it before she covered her face like always.

"You're not getting all gay on my are you?" She mumbled, blushing slightly.

"Hm, no. I only have my eye on one girl." I licked my lips with a sigh. "Pretty hard to get to her though."

I felt a presence next to me and saw Rosie laying on her belly, drinking a Capri Sun with a small smile. "Hi Vanni." She trailed out before raising her head and looking at me, her eyes twinkling from the phone light. "When I see Stellie and Ezzie?"

I hummed and shrugged. "I'm not sure, Princess. But soon, okay?" She nodded and scooted over to lay her head on my back before staring up at nothing silently. Rosie definitely reminded me of myself in that aspect. She was always asking questions and always thinking about it deeply. Even at three, she had her moments where she would get quiet and listen to everything around her. I never interrupted her during that time because I knew how much I valued my thinking time, so I did the same for her.

Yovanna and I continued to talk about her and how she was able to see her family down at the beach. And how much she missed the sun instead of pure coldness for a change.

Then, I suddenly remembered a knock at the door and spun my head around to see Johann nowhere in sight. My heart rate suddenly spike and I shot up, accidentally making Rosie shoot off of me.

"Owww." She whined and held her lip.

"Sorry baby." I quickly pecked her forehead before rising from the bed quickly and jogging to the door, yanking it open. I looked down the hall and saw nothing, but when I looked the other direction, I saw him leaned against the wall talking to.. some guy. "Johann..?" He stopped laughing mid sentence and looked my way. "Hey, what are you doing out here?"

"Um," he smiled at the slightly shorter boy before looking back at me. "Just hanging out with a bro, you know." I cocked an eyebrow. "He was telling me about Santa Monica and stuff."

I nodded slowly. "Okay, well don't wander off, alright?"

He nodded in response before adding a thumbs up. "Yeah babyyy ."

Going back into the room, I saw Rosie on the bed with my phone as she talked to Vanna.

"Seashells pretty. I want seashell." I dove back onto the bed and allowed her to keep holding the phone as I looked at the screen. "Mommy, I want seashell."

"Ok, we'll go to the beach sometime while we're here." I reassured, just to here what she was about to say next.

"Yes babyyy!" Vanna and I both broke out into laughter at the familiar catch phrase she used when she got what she wanted. She definitely learned it from Johann. "What funny?" She giggled out with a wide smile.
