Two weeks later
Vanessa's POVI stared at Vivian plainly as she attempted to juggle my makeup sponges, only for them to fall on my dresser and knock down majority of my things. "I saw it coming." I huffed out and started picking them up.
"Sorryyy." She dragged out before dropping onto my bed. "Nessa?" I hummed. "You mad at me?" Looking over at her, I chuckled at her pout.
"No," I sat besides her and she peered up at me through her long eyelashes. "You do annoy me though."
A menacing smirk crossed her lips. "I annoy you?"
"Yes." I replied immediately.
"Reallly?" She dragged before shooting her hands forward and attacking my sides with tickles. "Take it back!"
"Viv you're too old for this!" I exclaimed but couldn't contain the laughs spilling from my mouth. "Stop it- I take it back, I take it back!"
She laughed with her sparking eyes, hands still on my sides as she smirked at me. "Told you, I always get my way."
I rolled my eyes and went to respond when a knock on the open door beat me. We both snapped our eyes to the hallway where.. Y/n stood. But she wasn't making contact with either of us.. but the hands on my sides.
"Sorry," she mumbled before forcing a smile. "Stel let me in. I'll wait downstairs." My eyebrows furrowed at her pained tone, I could almost feel it in my own chest. Almost.
"So um," Vivian stood up, scratching the back of her neck. "I'm gonna... go."
"Nuh uh, you're not leaving me alone with her." I grabbed her forearm and dragged her out of the room with me. "It was awkward as hell last week, I'm not doing that again."
She groaned in response. "It'll be awkward either way." When we reached downstairs, first thing I saw was Y/n kneeled down in front of Stella. Her eyes were glowing as my.. our daughter spewed on about something that happened at soccer practice. I could tell how happy she was. I knew by that twinkle and that lone dimple that poked through her right cheek when she smiled hard enough. And was she smiling hard.
Her gaze looked towards us and I saw some of that light dim. She looked down and I followed her gaze, realizing I was still holding on to Vivian's forearm. I quickly let go, for some reason, but she looked away somberly.
"Yup, leaving." Vivian mumbled before grabbing her keys off of the hook. "I will see you tonight." She assured softly and I nodded, watching her go to Y/n. "See you later sis."
They hugged briefly and I found myself shifting uncomfortably as Y/n held my gaze during the duration of the hug. "Yep."
Then, Viv left.
Tension was so thick that even Stella slowly backed out of the room and dashed outside. Leaving Y/n and I standing there.. awkwardly. "Hungry?" I tried and she snapped suddenly.
"That reminds me. I was planing on, if you're okay with it, making dinner?" I cocked my eyebrow. "Oh but uh.. do you still eat fish or are you a vegan or whatever?"
I smiled softly and started to the kitchen. "I'm a pescatarian." I answered. "So, what did you think of- Jesus!" I exclaimed when she suddenly slapped a whole ass fish on the counter. "What the hell?!"
She smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." I watched in bewilderment as she grabbed a butchers knife and started to cut it expertly. "Back ho- uh.. in Iceland, I had to get a job."
I sat down on the counter watched her silently. The fact that she was about to call that... place her home rubbed me some type of way but for the sake of not bringing anything up, I let it go. "So your job was slamming fish on counters?" I questioned sarcastically.
