My hands shook rapidly at the wheel as a million thoughts ran through my head. My mom..had a heart attack? I took in a slow breath to calm myself down as I made a slow turn. I heard the twins talking to each other in the back and I maintained my slow speed.

She had a heart attack, I don't know her condition yet..they haven't told me.

I took in a shaky breath as Vivian's words echoed in my head. I finally reached the hospital and I immediately spotted Vanessa standing in the front with her arms crossed. I called her as soon as I got in the car and luckily she wasn't at work or anything.

I parked my car and silently took out the twins before letting them run to Vanessa.

"Mommy! We went to park and play!" Vanessa smiled at them but kept a worried eye on me.

"That's so cool." She said before waiting for me to approach her. "Hey," she whispered before pulling me into a hug. "She's on the third floor, room three sixteen." I gulped thickly and rubbed her back before pulling away.

"Thank you."

Then I left her with the twins and jogged into the hospital, getting my visitors pass, then hopping into the elevator.

Was she okay? Heart attack's were serious and not something to play around with. Was she.. I shook my head softly as I exited the the elevator. I wouldn't think about that, I wouldn't let that happen.

As I walked down the hall, I saw Vivian pacing in front of the door slowly.

"Viv," I set aside my personal anger and embraced her. "What's going on, any news?" I felt my heart sink when her frame shattered and a sob left her lips. "Vivian what.." I breathed out as my heartbeat hammered against my chest.

"She..she-" Her head pulled back as she wiped her tears. "She's in a coma."

I felt an ounce of relieve but it was quickly replaced with gut wrenching sadness. Looking at the door, my hands shook as I reached for the handle and twisted it open. I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath before stepping in without Vivian behind me. I assumed it was too much for her.

My eyes found the bed and my mom laid still, her skin drained of its color. I took slow steps towards her and each one became harder than the previous.

"Mom," I whispered once I reached her bedside. I grabbed her cold hands and closed my eyes again. "Why? What happened?" I questioned to no one in particular. I was just with her, telling her about my next baby, what happened? She didn't look sick, she didn't look stressed.

I sat down on the chair and stared at her peaceful state, the mask around her face giving her the real sick look. I knew she would've hated it. She despised looking sick or helpless. But she was.

My eyes started to water but I blinked them away and continued to stare at her solemnly.

The door cracked open and I saw. Vanessa walk in with a small smile. "Hi," I smiled weakly and nodded before looking back at my mom.

"Where are the twins?" I asked, my voice thick with emotion.

"With Kendall. She came up here with me and offered to take them to get food." She stood besides me and ran her fingers through the baby hairs on the bottom of my neck. "How are you feeling?"

"Confused." I breathed out, my hand still in my moms. "I don't understand what caused it. She was just fine."

Just as I finished my sentence I heard a long beep. A familiar one. I looked at the heart monitor and saw the flat line and next thing I knew I was forced out of the room by nurses.
