"Please don't be an ass." Nylah huffed out as we walked to the restaurant. "I know you, keep your protective self tamed."

I raised my hands sarcastically before shoving them back into my jeans.

"Why are you dressed like you're a hipster who lives in the forest and drinks americanos?" I looked down at my Aztec sweater that covered my gray band T, my cuffed jeans, and brown boots.

"What do you mean?" I questioned and I looked back up at her. She shook her head slightly before her eyes suddenly lit up as someone called out her name. I watched the guy stand up and walk towards us.

"Hey baby." A smile crossed my lips as he kissed her forehead before turning me, his hand raising. "Hey, I'm Trevor."

"Y/n." I said shortly and shook his hand. "I heard a lot about you... on the car ride up here."

He chuckled as we all settled at the table with Ny on his side of course. I crossed one leg over the other and folded my hands on my lap. Ew. I probably looked like such a dad.

"Good things I hope?" Ny and Trevor looked at each other for a moment and I knew I didn't need to bring out my protective side. I could tell from the way their eyes brightened up instantly and the never ending smiles. They were right for one another. "So, I ordered some entrees but I didn't know what you would be feeling, so I kinda just got one of everything."

I smiled at him before looking at Nylah. "I like him. Please don't fuck this up." She gasped and Trevor nodded with a loud laugh.

Soon, we fell into a nice flow of conversation as the waiter bought out our food. I was getting to know my best friends new fiancée and he wanted to know about the 'wilderness' life. I don't think people understood that I wasn't like Chris McCandless. I had an actually house. Sure, it was covered with grass and might've looked a little strange at first but after the first year, it felt like a normal, ordinary home.

"And you walked miles to work everyday?" I nodded and took a sip of my water. "How the hell?"

"It was what I wanted, you know? I wanted to experience living without needing barely anything. Of course I needed food and water and shelter. But I didn't have a car, didn't have a phone, and I didn't speak the language. I had to learn how to rely on myself and in turn, it made me a better person."

"Wow." He mumbled, his eyes truly hanging on every word. "That's weird because this girl, she has the same name as you and is also in a band. Would never step into wilderness willingly."

I chuckled and leaned forward. "Really? Her names Y/n?" He nodded. "Where's she from?"

"New York. That's where my ex was from as well, Amber." I cocked an eyebrow and he looked at me in confusion. "I'm shocked you don't know the band. Serendipity?"

I shrugged softly, not remembering a single thing about that band. "Never heard of them. But it's obvious I'm the better Y/n if the girl can't handle living detached from society."

He smirked and shrugged. "Maybe. Anyways, how are you and Vanessa? Heard you guys are back together."

I felt my own self perk up at the mention of my green eyed love. "Great actually. We haven't exactly put a name to it but it's basically, you know, official. We're just getting back into the trusting aspect and have couples therapy now which is in.." I looked down at my watch, my eyes shooting open. "In thirty minutes holy sh- did time really go by that fast?"

Trevor quickly called for the check and I pulled out my card, only for him to raise his hand. "Let me treat. It'll be like my... appreciation to be approved by the Y/n Y/ln." I raised my hands with a smile and he slid his card into the check. "Last question, if you don't have a car, how do you get around?"
