Third person pov

"Hi, I'd like to report battery and assault." The officers looked at the man in shock. The blood was still dripping down his face and the gash in the back of his head was no longer covered by the bandage Steph applied. He wanted them to see to the full extent of his injuries. And they did.

"Can we get a medic in here." One officer said and quickly walked around the desk, helping the wobbling man sit down. "Do you know who did it? Was there a weapon involved?"

The man looked down at the notepad and pen in the officers hand before nodding. "Yes. It's a girl..." the office raised his eyebrows at 'its a girl' but nonetheless wrote it down. "But she's not a normal girl, she has testicles and the strength of a man." The officer just wrote down 'transgender.' "And the weapon-" He stopped for a moment, the sound of glass crashing in his ears and knocking him out instantly the last thing he remembered about the ending of that beating. He knew that in order to get a third strike, her assault needed to have a weapon. So he went for it. "She used glass. I- I think it was a bottle or... maybe just a large glass shard."

"Did she intent to cause bodily harm with this weapon?" He simply turned around and pointed at his head, then at the back of his shoulder. "Got it." The officer mumbled. "Can I get a name please?"

"Y/n, Y/n Y/ln." the officer nodded and turned to the computer as he put in her name. "I just went over to her house to talk about my daughter and she just.. she snapped."

"Your daughter?" The officer mumbled. "What do you mean?"

"They're dating and I heard she's been a bit rough and she has anger issues so I wanted to dissolve it. I didn't think she'd attack... me."

"Oh wow." The officer mumbled. "Yeah she has an inked up record alright." He shook his head, reading down the list. "Aggravated assault with a bat, back to back DUI'S about four years ago, running from law enforcement, yeah she's gotten away with a lot.. I wonder why."

"Because she has money." The man piped up. "Shes bought her way out of everything and... I just don't want her to win this time. She's taken it too far."

The officer nodded in understanding. "We can question her but without probable cause.. the warrant for search will take a couple of weeks-" The man held up his phone. "Did you record it?"

"Voice memos." He handed the cop the phone. "You can hear everything."

The officer grabbed the phone and pressed play.

"I've been watching you Y/n, and I don't want you around my daughter. You're violent and dangerous-"

"I'm dangerous!?" Y/n exclaimed before it smoothly cut to the sound of Y/n punching the man in the gut.

And it continued, edited.

"Do you have her address?" The officer said, quickly standing up as the medic came over. "This is definitely enough evidence to have her brought in."

"I don't have her address but I know the way."

Ten hours north, Alexa was pacing in her living room as she tapped the iPhone against her palm.

"You're going to fall through the floor, Alexander." Jaime mumbled, biting into the pepperoni pizza. "I'm telling you, it's Y/n... she's fine."

"That's not the point." Alexa breathed out, eyes closing as she exhaled softly. "Rich... is evil, okay? The reason my mom left was because he was overbearing and just too much. He didn't let her go out, didn't let her talk to anyone, see anyone. Now he's trying to do the same with me." Jaime sat up as she watched her best friend shed a tear. "He always has a plan and I think I know what it is and I can't bear to have that happen to her."

"What plan, Alexa?" Their eyes connected and, with one word from Alexa, Jaime's eyes widened. "What?" She whispered.

"If he cant keep me away from her, he'll find a way to keep her away from me and the only way.." Alexa covered her face and shook her head. "I need to fly back out there."

"The closest flight is tomorrow night." Jamie mumbled. "I'll drive."

The two girls packed an overnight bag, a couple water bottles, and were out of the door within five minutes.

Now, back down to California, Y/n was holding Rosie as she sung a soft song to her. "Go through the darkest of days, heaven's a heartbreak away. Never let you go, never let me down." Y/n raised her eyes when she heard a car door close. Looking back down, she pressed her lips to Rosie's forehead, her eyes closing.
"Oh, it's been a hell of a ride, driving the edge of a knife. Never let you go, never let me down."

Vivian stared out of the window, watching the two police officers walk through the gates. "Y/n-" Turning around, she stopped once she saw Y/n hugging her sleeping daughter close to her chest.

"I'll do everything I can." Dana mumbled to Vivian. "I'll call the best of the best and spend whatever." Viv simply nodded just as the door rattled from the harsh knocks.

"LAPD."

Y/n slowly stood up, continuing to sing softly to Rosie who was soundly asleep. "Don't you give up, nah nah nah. I won't give up, nah nah nah. Let me love you, let me love you." Nodding at Vivian, she walked into the back to Rosie's room before softly laying her down on her pirate sheets. A small smile crossed her lips as she stared at her four year old. The light of her life. She pressed one more kiss to her forehead before walking out of the room, only to come face to face with two officers.

She closed the door behind her before nodding softly and raising her hands. "Y/n Y/ln, you are under arrest for the assault on Richard Rzyan.." they pushed her against the wall and pulled her arms down, the cold metal cuffs following suit.

Vivian watched helplessly while Dana was already on the phone, simultaneously typing on her computer at lightning speed. Just as Y/n passed by her sister, Vivian mouthed one thing. "Say nothing." Y/n nodded before hanging her head low once she was outside, paparazzi on the sidewalk to capture the moment.

As they opened the car door, Y/n raised her head for a split second and saw the navy blue ford truck, two dice in the mirror. She tilted her head once her gaze connected with those dark eyes. He smirked with a cigarette between his lips, knowing he got her and on his first attempt. She stared right back before forcefully pushed into the back of the car.

Y/n leaned her head back on the seat and stared up at the gray ceiling, three faces in her head as she whispered, "I'm so sorry."
