"Yes, I have my beanie..yeah my jacket too." I huffed out slightly as Vanessa would not hang up the phone.
"Okay but how about your umbrella? It's suppose to be a storm." I looked outside and saw the most baby sprinkle hitting my windshield. But I knew better than to get smart with her.
"Yup, I have that too."
I was on my way to meet with Vivian at her apartment because she didn't have a way to my house, surprisingly. After waiting a week my schedule was finally free and I was able to have this 'talk' with her.
"Okay, I'll let you go then." I breathed out happily before being completely dicked. "Wait what if there's lightni-"
"Baby I'm fine. You should be sleeping right now, do you know how late it is?"
"Okay okay, I love you." I hesitated for a moment, not because of her but because of where I realized I was driving. The neighborhood looked...really run down. "Are you having a moment again? Babe you know-"
"No no, I was just looking for Vivian's house. I love you too, princess, call me when you wake up."
"I thought I was queen?" I rolled my eyes playfully and parked at the curb once I was notified by my gps that I reached my destination.
"Right? My bad, call me later my queen." She feigned a fangirl squeal as I opened my door. "You're a mess, bye Ness."
"Laters baby." I slid my phone into my pocket and looked up, only to see some people staring at me and my car.
"What kind of car is that?" A guy asked with a cigarette in his mouth. I looked at it before facing him with a smile.
"Uh it's a Tesla model X." I answered.
He nodded looked back at me. "Can I see the key?"
I furrowed my eyebrows before pulling it and letting him grab it, only for it to be snatched by someone else.
"Nice try Paul, this is my sister." Vivian said with an eye roll, handing me my keys back. "You were always naive." She mumbled before grabbing my arm and directing me to her house. "He was going to steal your car."
"Really?" I questioned and looked back, only to see him at a car across the street with half a hanger in the window. "Wow."
"Yup, this isn't Beverly Hills." She used a key to open a door before jiggling the door knob and letting me walk in.
I looked around the apartment and frowned at how junky it was. I mean I wasn't no Cinderella but not even I let my house get this dirty. There were pizza boxes on the table, beer cans on the floor...used condoms..
"So yeah, welcome to mi casa. Ignore the mess I thought I had more time." She laughed uneasily before nodding to the dining room which was luckily a little bit cleaner. "Want a beer?"
She asked as she pulled two cans out of the fridge and started to me. "I'm sober." I relied while pulling off my jacket. "So this is your place huh?"
She grabbed a water bottle for me and nodded while walking back to me. "I did have a condo up in Hollywood but uh I couldn't pay the rent that was due."
"What do you mean?"
She sucked her teeth, tapping her fingers on the beer can with her eyes casted down. "I don't have as much money as I would like."
"But you're music-"
"What music, Y/n?" I fell silent as she looked up at me angrily. She exhaled heavily and shook her head. "Sorry but, there's no music. To the industry I'm a drummer, that's it."
