His Point of View
The Sun shines, the late summer warmth has yet to materialise this morning. The air is cold and it brings a shiver to me as I walk along the bustling streets heading to the tube. Not the best idea I've had taking the car to the garage this morning.
There are people everywhere and it is claustrophobic. I make my way to the platform and pause to catch my breath for a second, I look either side of me, everyone seems lost in their own bubble when I spot a girl in the squeeze of it all waiting for the train but she was crying, crying her heart out. She's shaking and yet she's trying not to draw attention to herself. I can see the tears run down her cheeks, every now and then she takes her hand to her face to wipe them away. Her breathing is forced, her sobs taking her energy.
As we wait for the train I keep glancing at her not wanting to stare in case she thinks I'm some weird stalker, but I couldn't stop looking at her, she was so pretty and I ached at seeing her so upset. My head is suddenly a rush of emotions what the hell was this, where had this come from. Our train pulls up and she makes a run for it unable to decide what door to use. I take my eyes off her for a second and before I know it she has run practically full pelt into my chest "Oh god I'm so sorry" I say to her and she looks up at me her eyes still brimming with tears, suddenly she's dragged away by the crowd, I grab her hand and call to her but I can't see her "Wait please. wait are you alright" I shout but she's being pulled away by the crowd
"No it was me.......I......I'm sorry" she calls to me, I can't feel her hand anymore, where is she. She leaves behind the scent of her perfume, a sweet fragrance. I step onto the carriage and spot her ahead of me she is sat down looking at her feet. I'm able to grab a spot a few seats away from her but she is determined not to make eye contact with anyone. I glance over to her now and again in the hope that she will look up but even if she does, what do I say, what do I do?
The Guard announces that we are near Charring cross and she get's ready to jump off. Something in me wants to catch her before she leaves, to help her and suddenly before I can think about what I'm doing I'm jumping out of my seat and running towards her. "Excuse me Miss" I call pulling my handkerchief out of my jacket pocket offering it to her
"You look like you need it" as she turns to look at me this time looking me straight in the eye allowing me to take her in, My God she is beautiful.
"Thank you" she says taking the handkerchief wiping her face.
"What lovely eyes" I tell her and she becomes breathless. Christ what is this.
"MIND THE GAP PLEASE" the automated voice shouts, she's leaving.
"I have to go" she says
"Where" I ask putting my hand on her arm.
"To work" she answers going to jump off, she's still looking at me and I'm transfixed as the door starts to close.
"Where do you work" I ask and she try's to shout back at me but suddenly it's loud and there's more people "Where I didn't hear you" I call after her, she's takes a lanyard out from her jacket is this where she works, shit I can't see "Wait how will I find you" then I panic the train is moving and I don't know where she is going I have to get off. I have to find her.
I jump off at the next station which isn't far away, I run like mad in some crazy hope that I'll spot her. I stop for a second and look around, there she is in the distance she hasn't gone too far. I follow her, this seems like madness but I can't let her go. I watch her walk into Superdrug. I want to call out to her but I can't the words won't come out. I head into a bookshop across the street from the store and wait, Jesus now I do feel like a stalker.
